Orakzai, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa “We will not pay extortion” Mushti tribe stands firm against Khawarij in Hasan Zo Dara A significant jirga of the Mushti tribe was held after members of the Khawarij group had arrived in the area to demand extortion. The brave tribesmen confronted the militants and forced them to flee. The people of the Mushti tribe rejected the Khawarij outright and declared their resolve to stand against them. The jirga aimed to unite the community against the tyranny and oppression of the Khawarij. Security Forces and police personnel also reached the spot, where they were warmly welcomed by jirga members. “We will not allow Khawarij to extort innocent people,” tribal elders stated. “We stand shoulder to shoulder with our Security Forces and the State,” they added. On the night of Saturday, June 27, Israeli airstrikes targeted the town of Abdin in the Yarmouk Valley in response to the outbreak of clashes with local armed groups. The following night, security forces from the Ministry of the Interior entered the town to conduct raids and arrest those involved. Local armed groups, possibly affiliated with the IRSF, have threatened the IDF with an escalation if the incursions and attacks on Daraa and Quneitra continue.
