He only packs the bare necessities and is supposed to forage for what else he needs, hunting and fishing for food and learning to start a fire even in the worst situations. In this moment the shavings he’s using to start a fire are too wet and covered in moss, he’s trying hard to start a fire but nothing is working so he calls his dad for help. Since his dad is testing his skills for survival should he have intervened like this, wouldn’t it have been better to let him figure it out himself?

I’m not a vegan, but I would never bash anyone who chooses to live that lifestyle. What confuses me is why some vegans are so obsessed with making their vegetables taste like meat since meat is so objectionable for them, I am perplexed by this. So this man is making a vegan pulled pork by shredding banana peels instead of using actual smoked pork. I have to give him credit for using actual real clean ingredients like the banana peels and the spices. Something tells me that he actually believes that what he’s making is going to actually taste like pulled pork. For me, the look on his grandson’s face says it all. I know he’s trying to be nice and let his grandfather save face but I don’t think he actually enjoyed it. To me, he looks actually disgusted by it, I can tell by his comment about the “unique texture.” I’m not a vegan, but for the sake of enjoying different types of food, I think I would actually this. However I would approach it as a new food and not a replacement for pulled pork. I’ve never tasted any vegan replacement that actually tastes like what it’s replacing so that aspect for me is unrealistic. Is there a vegan replacement that you enjoy, would you make this?
