Nothing to see here in California… Just our Governor directing over $300 million to nonprofits, some of which contract with his wife’s production company that has paid her over a million dollars in salaries. This kind of activity is illegal in a lot of other states, but it is legally allowed here in California. It is a form of legal money laundering, and that should be changed. We also have a new bill called the “Nonprofit industrial complex” or the Office of Nonprofit Empowerment. This bill would establish a state run office that directs even more funds to nonprofits like CHIRLA and 1000s of others. We have created a nonprofit industrial complex here in the state of California, and it must be stopped. It is a legal way to wash your taxpayer dollars to do the bidding of those who are in charge. You should check right now if the nonprofit you like to donate to has administrative costs over 40 percent. If they do, you probably have a problem. These nonprofits are running legislation like the “Stop Nick Shirley Act” and then exempting themselves when investigative journalists come around. I may be crazy, but it sounds like California is. Well, here it is: It turns out that Democrats are not only conspiring with NGOs on illegal immigration, but they are also conspiring with NGOs to sabotage elections: Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson says voter data is a state secret—yet not only is she giving the data to NGOs, she is also paying them. BALTIMORE TAXPAYERS ARE ABOUT TO PAY FOR the TheLazarusRiteInc’s MESS. During this past week’s budget hearings, the Deputy City Administrator confirmed something we feared: Baltimore taxpayers may have to repay the federal government for missing ARPA money tied to the failed $1.4 million Clean Corps contract given to The Lazarus Rite. Here’s what makes this even worse: Instead of reimbursing expenses after proof that the money was properly spent, like most city contracts, the city/civic fund foolishly fronted a large chunk of the money upfront. The contract was eventually canceled after allegations that Chris Ervin's nonprofit misused a significant portion of those funds. And now the Baltimore Civic Fund is refusing even to try to recover the money. Think about that. No serious effort to get the money back. No accountability. Just Baltimore taxpayers are left holding the bag. At a time when families are struggling with the highest property taxes in the state, high utility bills, and other unavoidable costs, the ARPA office was handing out millions with little oversight, and now residents could be stuck paying for the fallout. The public deserves answers: Who approved this deal? Where did the money go? And why isn’t every possible effort being made to recover taxpayer dollars?
