this is Zero. i was going to launch Zero 6 months ago, but decided not to. i felt if we launched too early, the team would get distracted. the product still had areas where i wanted to make the experience incredible, not just 'good'. Zero is more like a... video game or movie, where the experience matters. it's not a tool, it's immersive. how people feel when they use it matters. it needed to be fast, feel real, and actually work. so instead of launching, we went heads down for 6 months to craft the best learning experience the world has seen. it has the best applied AI models, immersive experiences that feel like the real-world (like kick-off meetings, feedback walk-throughs, and real-time collaboration), and modern workflows that train people on how to use AI tools to make them more productive, rather than use them mindlessly as a crutch. it was a tough decision because my team put a ton of work into this video and wanted the world to see it. imagine, this was made 6 months ago! i'm super proud of my team for what they made, and i'm even more proud to finally share this with the world. so yea, this is Zero. this is the future of education. to join the beta, let me know in the thread.show more

This might be the best "AI Engineer" I've tried so far. I'm an old school developer who started 30 years ago. I feel very uncomfortable letting AI take control of my code, but for the sake of science, I spent two hours building an application that took me weeks to build a couple of years ago. I used Pythagora, a brand new tool backed by Y Combinator. They just released to the public. Keep in mind that I use AI every day to write code, but Pythagora is something different: it's a tool that leads, and uses you—the human—as the copilot. I go into more details in the video, but here is the TLDR; 1. Holy molly! We've made a ton of progress on this front! This is way better than Devin when I tested it a few months back. 2. Love the approach of generating a plan with sub-tasks before writing any code. 3. The tools never tries to do too much: it tackles every small task one at a time, and gives you instructions so you test everything. 4. It does exactly what you'd do when it gets stuck: writes a bunch of logs and uses those to correct itself. Pretty neat! 5. It's fast. It runs locally. It's an extension to Visual Studio Code. I'm impressed, but I don't think this tool is for me. I'm not the type of developer who's ready to relinquish control. I felt I had no connection with the code because I didn't write it. It was not my code. I know many people who don't care about this. I know many people who will get tremendous value out of Pythagora. I hope they keep pushing the limits, providing feedback, and helping this get to a point where old folks like me feel more comfortable using it. Don't take my word for it. The best thing you can do is to give it a try and see how you feel using it. Thanks to the team who built this, for all of the explanations and support, and especially, for sitting and listening to my dumb questions for 2 hours while I tested this.

I recently went to Ukraine a few months ago, and while standing in this trench, I felt compelled to make this video, warning, Americans and people across the world about how important elections really are. I never posted this video because I was afraid of the backlash I might receive but now I feel like it is more important than ever that this video is seen by others as things continue to escalate in the Ukraine-Russia war at a rapid pace.

We live in the solo founder era. That's for sure and building with AI has accelerated. I am building software to use for myself and replace the expensive tools I used to use. And partially thanks to AI we can build faster, but not dramatically faster if you want to build a commercial grade product. Before I was using a live chat and customer support tool that costed around 50-100$ a month. This helped me to interact with the customers of my agency or prospects. But I decided a few months ago to build my own and stop paying for these more expensive solutions. I did and turned into a product for everyone to use. The build was not 1-2 hours of work using AI, but it was a several-month process on and off as I needed it. Finally, it has turned into a commercial grade product. I have built several of these and this is when we will see more and more solutions like these. Let's start bootstrapping before showing MRR figures.

Google Street View started as a project to scan the real world. Cars with cameras photographed streets to collect data. It worked, but everything that made a place feel like a place was gone. Until Andy Szybalski prototyped what it could feel like as a product designed for people. The prototype was completely fake. The map didn't work and the imagery wasn't real. But it let people feel what it was like to stand on the street. An engineer saw it and said "let's ship it." Andy had to explain there was nothing to ship. This "smoke and mirrors" prototype convinced the team to throw out years of work and rebuild Street View through the eye of a human instead of a machine. Rafa Nadal & Roger Federer were asked how they want to be remembered in a new campaign for Louis Vuitton Rafa: “At the end what will make me feel proud and happy is when I leave this world, if the tournament directors, the people who work at the tournaments, staff, ATP, say good things about who I was on the tour, or who I am as a person more than a tennis player. Because as a tennis player, at the end, we have the titles, we have the achievements and that's how it is. I achieved more than what I ever dreamed of. So for me at the end, the legacy in terms of a human being, after achieving all the things that we achieved, for me is the most important thing.” ❤️ Roger: “I hope if I'm remembered not only as a tennis player, but as a person behind what I gave to the game and what I represented to the game, and it was less about all my Wimbledon victories or whatever it was, that would mean a lot to me. Sora 2 has the capabilities to make an entire anime episode with time and effort. This is a turning point for generative AI models and it is terrifying to think what is next to come. The difference between Sora and Sora 2 is absolutely staggering. Yes, this looks cool. I put the time into it to make it as close to art as possible. This was not simple to make and not just prompting and throwing it in some editor. Every frame is generated of another scene and even the reference image for characters I used to start this project were AI generated. This was all created with 10 second clips pulled apart and chunked out into the final product. Regardless of the imagery you see, I did not directly use any artist's art for this video. This 10-minute video was generated over the course of a week from more than 700 text prompts. It was built on technology trained by scraping the uncredited, uncompensated contributions of countless human artists and animators. The creation of this single video consumed an enormous amount of energy and water, equivalent to powering a home for days and requiring hundreds of liters of fresh water for cooling. But that is nothing. In the 10 minutes you spend watching this, the global network of AI video generators will create over 6,250 more short videos. The combined energy required for that 10 minutes of global creation is enough to power an average household for nearly 2 years. - It's a double-edged sword. While AI uses immense amount of energy has clear immoral issues with scalping the hard work of artists, this also provides those a medium who have potentially spent their life attempting to draw out the ideas in their head and failing to grasp it. My sister is an artist, I grew up always attempting to draw but never could get the image in my head on paper, I've spent the better part of over 20 years to teach myself through watching videos and practice, however I don't have steady hands and frankly have just been unable to make any vision come to life. Which brings me to the conflict here. This would have been a dream of mine to be able to get frames created and flesh out the story in my head. To make this video professionally, it would be an absurd amount of money. A small studio by itself would be over a million dollars just to start up. To hire a studio would be most likely over ~200k. I would love to make this story I have in my head through legit and traditional means, I would love to start a Kickstarter to get funding and hire artists, voice actors, and a production team. However I know that would most likely be an impossible reach that would further fuel the hate. Regardless, I understand the worry this causes. The fear this produces. However, we can't just ignore where AI is currently at and just tell people not to use it or even worse threaten people who use it. People will always use the shiny new toy in front of them, so the real question is how do we either make it work for us and work along side it, or how do we ACTUALLY implement a method to protect art rather than tell people to not use it. Respect your artists. Review their ToS and don't upload their hard work to a model without permission.

My upcoming release of "Cinematic AI" has made me think about how bodies of work are formed. I think some are manifested and some are revealed. I think "Cinematic AI" falls into the latter category. It was not something I had a clear vision for and then created, but it was something that was revealed to me over time. I thought I saw a glimmer of it early on, but only after some time had past, could I see the body of work emerge. With a bit more context and watching great artists and how they work and think, it finally came to me that this series of 15-20 pieces that I had created could be a worthy collection to mint. AI art has been going through so many transformations from the early GAN work to Collaborative AI to now AI being widely accessible through platforms like MidJourney, Stable Diffusion, and many others. But one area that I have seen explode in recent months is cinematic AI. I distinguish this from animated AI, which has been around for a while, but cinematic AI is where the movements created by AI are getting closer to what you'd see in a movie or captured on a video camera. It still has a long way to go but it is getting more real than surreal as the technology develops. And this is where I seem to have found my groove, my home, my little corner in the artistic landscape. After Runway launched their image-to-video tool, it just blew my mind and I went down a deep rabbit hole and have created a new cinematic AI piece almost every other day for the past few months. I initially saw many of these pieces as just experiments, but with some time to reflect, I am seeing them as having the potential of being relevant pieces of artwork to mark this time in the development of AI. In some cases, I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to create a similar piece again, since the tools I use are not in my control, but in the control of the AI platforms, who are constantly improving and evolving the tools. Given all of this, there is no better way to mark my place in time than on the blockchain. I truly believe that this body of work has the potential to be an important artifact of this era in AI and AI art. It is always hard to judge ones own work, but what I can do is permanently etch in time on an immutable public database saying that I created this. Only time will tell if the work has any value or is of any significance, but who created it and what was created cannot be disputed. I hope this gives you and especially collectors some perspective on the work I'll be releasing next week. I'm still very early in my artistic journey, but hopefully some of you will see promise in what I'm doing and maybe even put in a early bet on my art practice by bidding on a piece next week. He wrote this nice email: 'Kelsey, heard you had a good experience with the team' - remember I did the interview at the Microsoft headquarters - “heard really good things from the team, just wanted to let you know, you're going to be respected here. We're going to support you as a team.” I'm like, damn, support as a team? Coming from the CEO? So, number one, what an honor. This is the CEO of Microsoft. He has so many more important things to be doing than to be emailing me about a role. I opened the PDF - not very often in your career does a zero get added to the equation. And so you're looking at this like, I didn't even know that they do that. We know that it happens. But the person that graduated from high school in 1999, that chose the A+ Certification didn't know that was available. Even while I was at Google having all the success. Google paid me pretty well too, but I didn't know you can add another zero still. And I'm like, wow. I showed my wife and she was the one that said you should just go interview, like put your ego to the side and let's go see what's out there, so shout out to my wife.
