Police Seize 3.5 Kg Gold From House of TMC Leader Tina Bhaumik Saha; Links Probed to Jailed Bidhannagar Civic Chief Sabyasachi Dutta A special team of Bidhannagar Police raided the Tehatta residence of Nadia Zilla Parishad TMC member Tina Bhaumik Saha on Monday night and seized around 3.5 kg of gold jewellery. Police estimate the market value at over Rs 4 crore. Police conducted the marathon search as part of the ongoing probe into an extortion case against jailed Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation chairman and former TMC MLA Sabyasachi Dutta. Sources claim Tina Bhaumik Saha is a close associate of Dutta. Dutta is currently in jail in an extortion case. Police said the gold recovery has increased legal pressure on him. During the raid, investigators recovered multiple sets of heavy gold jewellery from almirahs and lockers in the house. Tina Bhaumik Saha could not explain the source of the gold. Police have seized all the jewellery and started a full investigation. Local and political sources said Tina Bhaumik Saha rose rapidly in Tehatta after the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Though she had limited influence in Nadia district TMC politics, she maintained strong links in Kolkata and appeared publicly with Sabyasachi Dutta at several events. Residents had long questioned her lavish lifestyle and frequent display of expensive gold jewellery at political and social events. Tina had earlier faced allegations of anti-party activities and was sidelined in Nadia Zilla Parishad politics. She regained prominence during a recent no-confidence motion in the Zilla Parishad. Opposition parties BJP and CPI(M) alleged that black money from corruption was converted into gold and stored. Villa, 50-acre land bank, luxury flats: Telangana DSP booked in DA case ACB raids uncover properties across Telangana, Karnataka; cash, 2 kg gold seized A Telangana deputy superintendent of police allegedly amassed a portfolio of villas, luxury apartments, commercial properties, more than 50 acres of land, cash, gold and investments far beyond his known sources of income, prompting the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) to register a disproportionate assets case and conduct searches at 16 locations on Thursday. The ACB booked Sankireddy Bheem Reddy, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Police Computer Services (PCS), Hyderabad, under Sections 13(1)(b) and 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, as amended in 2018, alleging that he acquired assets disproportionate to his known sources of income by indulging in corrupt practices and dubious means during his service. Searches were carried out at his residence and 15 other premises linked to his relatives, friends, alleged benamidars and associates. Among the assets traced were a villa at Vessella Meadows in Ibrahimbagh, a G+2 house with a penthouse and another flat in Telecom Nagar, a flat at Kranti Ceon Apartments in Gachibowli, two flats in Tellapur, a share in a G+5 commercial complex on Lancohills Road in Manikonda, a 3,000 sq ft commercial space near Manikonda Marrichettu Junction and several open plots in Nagole, Patancheru, Pragathi Resorts and Mominpet. The ACB also found documents relating to agricultural land measuring 3.5 acres at Zaheerabad in Sangareddy district, six acres and another 38 acres in Karnataka, one acre at Devanahalli near Bengaluru, two acres at Mominpet in Vikarabad district and 4.20 acres at Muchintala village in CC Kunta. Investigators also identified an investment of ₹75 lakh in M/s Sri Raghavendra Rock Sand Minerals. During the searches, officials recovered about ₹3.6 lakh in cash from the officer’s residence and another ₹40 lakh from the house of an alleged benamidar. They also found gold ornaments weighing about two kilograms, silver articles weighing about 20 kilograms and bank balances of approximately ₹19.91 lakh. The ACB said the market value of the immovable properties could be many times higher than their registered value. Officials also found 23 foreign liquor bottles at the officer’s residence and informed the Excise department for further action. One of biggest issues in this West Bengal election is unemployment and the SSC sScam. So I want everyone to remember this video of TMC candidate Kunal Ghosh. In an interview with ABP, Kunal Ghosh openly admitted that TMC and Mamata Banerjee were aware of the SSC scam long before the 2021 election. Mamata Banerjee knew that Partha Chatterjee had taken money, yet she did not take any action against him. Instead, she made Partha Chatterjee a minister again and continued to meet him at public events. If Mamata really cared about the teachers and the people of Bengal, she would have removed Partha from her party and ensured that every tainted candidate lost their job. But how could she do that? Her own niece was a beneficiary of the scam. Mamata never expected that the ED would recover cash from Partha’s house and expose the SSC scam. She is involved in corruption. She benefits from corruption. How can any sane person vote for such a corrupt leader?

HISTORYSHEETER ROWDY ARRESTED; FAMILY ATTACKED POLICEMEN A 26-year-old history-sheeter was arrested during a ganja raid in Pulianthope after police seized narcotic substances from his residence. Police also registered a separate case against his relatives for attacking officers during the operation. A video of the altercation later circulated on social media. Acting on a tip-off about the sale of ganj in the Pulianthope, a team from the Basin Bridge Police Station, led by Sub-Inspector Krishnakumar and other personnel, conducted a raid on a house in Gandhi Nagar Fifth Street on Sunday night. The house belonged to Nandakumar, 26, who is listed as a history-sheeter by the police. During the search, officers seized 29 packets of ganja weighing a total of 10 grams and six syringes from the premises. Police said women present in the house initially objected to the search and attempted to prevent officers from carrying out the raid. After Nandakumar was arrested and police attempted to take him into custody, his mother and other female relatives assaulted the officers. According to police, the officers used force to protect themselves and bring the situation under control. A video showing the confrontation between police personnel and the family members subsequently went viral on social media platforms. Nandakumar was taken to the Basin Bridge Police Station, where a case was registered against him under relevant provisions relating to possession of narcotic substances. He was inquired further. In a related development, Nandakumar’s mother, Meena, went to the police station and demanded her son’s release. Police said she injured her wrist with a razor blade during the protest and argued with officers inside the station premises. She was later sent away after intervention by police personnel. The Basin Bridge police registered a separate case against Nandakumar’s relatives for obstructing and assaulting police personnel during the raid.
