I love seeing doctors leaving insurance and going to cash pay. It's fabulous. And they use common sense and naturpathic healing with some conventional medicine.

Just so everyone understands, this “discount” has been going on for a long time. I figured it out before Obama care. But insurance was way more affordable. After Obama care— insurance went up a lot. It made it even more ridiculous. It’s a complete scam. They charge the insurance companies more to make up for losses of people that don’t pay and for lower reimbursement programs like Medicaid.

Unfreakingbelievable! Obamacare forced us to get insurance or be fined, we had to show proof filing our taxes too. Yet, under Biden they passed a law that if you were uninsured you got a freaking discount?

What this guy doesn't seem to understand is that he is charged more to subsidize the uninsured. That is how Obamacare was designed. It's based on socialism, and socialism always fails.

Same here, just went through this last summer. They call it an uninsured discount to avoid the laws against what they are really doing with insurance and the scam on taxpayers.

That actually happened when I had my first child. We paid cash early up front$3200 and were in the clear. They sent us a bill accidentally of what they billed insurance anyway even though we paid cash in full up front. It was over $30,000 in 2001. Can I imagine how much this happens?!?! A lot. More than we even imagine. In all insurances.

So let me get this straight… Under the “Affordable” Care Act: If you DON’T have insurance, you are penalized. If you DO have insurance, you are also penalized. When does the “affordable” part kick in? Is it in the room with us??

Go back to when insurance first became a thing. Back then people were correct in questioning it. Because it came off exactly like it is. A ponzi scheme. Insurance companies have profited billions off our ignorance. Just think. We have to have insurance but those very same companies aren't forced to stay in any state. Crazy right? 🍿

For not having any insurance, cash price for just office visit 2 years ago $187. Just to get a refill on bp medication. Nothing else done, they tried to bill me $56 more. I refused to pay. The doctor said if I didnt go get complete bloodwork, she wouldn't refill again. I quit

I just went through the same thing. Paid $1,300/mo for insurance and my copay for an ultrasound was $190 when I asked how much for self pay$125. My out of pocket was $9,200 . It is cheaper for me not to have insurance and pay as needed when needed

Truth and I can prove it. I didn’t have health insurance when I moved 7 years ago and had 5 strokes and no insurance. A Dr visit was 70 dollars for cash and it’s about 250 with insurance.

Yes. I Got $5200 Bill for the Emergency Room that was Heavily Discounted Due to being a Cash Patient. Where if we had insurance my Deductible would have been $13,000.00

This is true but also there are max out of pocket that doesn't occur if you are not insured. So I would be careful about cancelling insurance. Obamacare made catastrophic insurance options illegal.

For a doctor office visit they charged less for self pay because they said it saved them from all the extra paperwork filing etc. Similar to the doctors that are refusing insurance and have patients on monthly self pay plans.

Time to get rid of Obamacare and go back to just having major medical insurance coverage and paying out of pocket for everything else. It would help tremendously
