You don't need to go as far as the Outer Hebrides, Calgary and Uisken beach on Mull are quite impressive

I used to holiday every year in Mull. I know these beaches well. Stunning.

I lived on Mull for a number of years and many of it's beaches are equally as stunning. A couple of my friends from Tobermory had a holiday and weekend caravan on the croft beside Uisken beach, spent many breaks with them at the weekends.

How many layers were you wearing?

Meanwhile the locals are like... WHY?? Why did you have to post this?? WHY?? We had a peaceful life... no more.

Aye, I holiday on the West Coast regularly. Now do the other 364 days of the year. It’s even been terrible during these multiple heatwaves. This is the best I’ve seen it. Happens about once every 3 years 🤣

I've been there; a beautiful place looks like a tropical paradise but the wind cuts through you like a knife on cold days, which most are

I’ve been there. It’s absolutely gorgeous. The water is about 14 degrees in summer.

20 minutes from my place - Mid North Coast, NSW

Berneray Beach

And is the water warm? 🤣

It needs so e vape shops and a Turkish barbershop maybe a hand car wash and a taxi rank.

@petuniasforever Beautiful!

There's lots of beautiful beaches all over the islands. The thing is like the dog you need a fur coat to spend any time on them.😁

In 1976, I spent two weeks on the Isle of Lewis and saw for myself the incredible wildlife and white sandy beaches that look as though they've been imported from some distant tropical paradise. Utterly unforgettable! The weather wasn't too great and we sheltered from the almost incessant wind and rain as England suffered a severe drought.

Balephetrish beach on Tiree.

It is absolutely amazing. Shame they can't heat the water 🥶

Beautiful but too cold to enjoy.

That’s 10 minutes from my house. Lunan Bay Put filters on and the water looks better but that’s the way it is

It is indeed breathtaking - until you put one toe in the freezing water. Then you realise it isn’t Barbados. Flying into Barra is an amazing experience. Everyone should do it.

On the one day of the year where it wasn’t raining

Lucky they shot this on the one day a year Scotland isn't cloudy lol

Durness, the northern tip of the highlands is also stunning.

That sea is not as warm though. Wetsuit time.

After the sickening non stop heat living on the South Coast of UK this is the answer for me next summer.I am retired so I shall spend the whole summer on these island far away from the noise, sweat, people, heat, and clogged traffic of 'down South.'

James prepare my room at your villa! I’m on my way.

I visited a beach like that near Lossiemouth one autumn. Untouched white sand, blue sea, beach fringed with trees, fabulous. Until you stepped out from the trees and the arctic wind immediately froze your ears off!

But, cold as hell, unless you're a penguin. It's like window shopping when you're poor

it used to be lovely. until it went to millions on social media 😏

Went on holiday 4 years ago to Mull and Iona..the beaches and the clear sea are fantastic.

@SickOfEverythi6 Heaven one day a year then terrible cold wind and rain.

Too stunning and beautiful to justify words….it’s glorious as is Barra

The water will be 3 degrees all year round including during the 2 weeks of summer. But apart from that, very nice

Was on the north coast a few years ago. Fly to Inverness then a rental (automatic for all the passing places). Gorgeous weather & stunning landscape.

Falklands even more stunning beaches but like Scotland, too cold with the added challenge of orca whales near the shore. Lovely to look at though.

🤩🤩🤩

We've some fine options closer to home. But if you fix the weather & I'll make the journey.😊 Didn't work out too well last time we tried... remained on the mainland+Skye due to cancelled ferries. Though Achmelvich was its usual glorious self [except the cratered car park.🙄]
