Donations are going to drop rapidly because they're not going to be televised that's the only reason they do it is to get the press coverage

the Society of Professional Journalists' ethics code explicitly says journalists should verify information, provide context, avoid misrepresenting or oversimplifying, distinguish advocacy from commentary, and never deliberately distort facts or context. The Reuters Institute's 2025 research found that impartiality, accuracy, transparency, misrepresenting, omission, oversimplifying, partisan advocacy, distortion of facts were all among the principal things audiences said news organizations need to improve on.

We cannot assume that anyone carrying a journalist's title is necessarily a neutral truth-seeker. That's not how journalism works. A story can contain some technically accurate facts while still misleading through selection, omission, framing, loaded language, and political narrative resulting in truth being lost, totally obfuscated. Obama had a highly contentious record concerning the press, including aggressive leak investigations that swept up journalists' communications. In 2009, White House communications director Anita Dunn said Fox News was operating “almost as either the research arm or the communications arm of the Republican Party.” Obama himself questioned whether Fox was functioning as a news organization or more like talk radio. In September 2009, Obama appeared on virtually every major Sunday political program except Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace. The White House subsequently acknowledged that it had a history of excluding Fox from some newsmaking interviews. In October 2009, there was a dispute over whether the Treasury Department was attempting to exclude Fox from an interview with “pay czar” Kenneth Feinberg. Other network bureau chiefs reportedly refused to participate unless Fox was included, after which Fox got the interview. Obama also described Fox's point of view as “ultimately destructive” to the country.

the ban itself has generated considerably more scrutiny of the outlets and their biased and abusive reporting than a routine access dispute probably would have. The suit may result in their regaining access to the WH briefings but hopefully, they will be permanently banned from Air Force 1 and any presidential briefings
