This woman was called out because she opted for her real dad to walk her down the aisle of her wedding instead of her stepdad. The real dad was never there for her, always made empty promises and then bailed on her her. Her stepdad paid for all of her schooling, bought her a new car when she graduated high school so she could go to college, and agreed to pay for her wedding. She was literally using her last straw of survival… her own body! Imagine being put in a situation where you feel like you have to sacrifice yourself as a woman just to survive. Just to avoid being sent back to the same hell you spent your whole life trying to escape. And all of this… because the only thing you wanted was to study. A basic human right btw!! Yet people were so cruel and disgusting that they reduced the whole situation to “she was offering her body for him.” Meanwhile, he literally saw her shaking from fear while she was taking off her robe. And before she even said anything, he told her “yapma” in that tone because he understood what was happening. He saw her desperation! And I will keep saying this forever!! Serhat hated himself for bringing her to a point where she felt like she had to offer herself just to survive… Then she asked him: “Don’t you want me?” And he couldn’t answer. This woman was visiting NYC, she was excited to try the food and see the sights. She saw a few people take the pedi-cabs and thought it would be an amazing experience. She found one not in use and asked the operator how much a ride was, she had a few people in her group. He said it was $20. After the ride was over she was preparing to pay him and he told her it would be $500. She argued that he told her $20, he then said yes it’s $20, per minute, per person. She was so upset and fearful because she felt he was trying to intimidate her, so she called the police. I don’t feel this was right as she still ended up paying him $200 instead of $500. Should the police have charged him for scamming her, relieving her of payment?

The Today Show interview got better for Karen Read as it went on, and she responded to the comment about how John was being lost in all of this perfectly: "He's not lost, he's the reason we're doing this." This needs to be emphasized more because it's the most common criticism of her detractors. Karen is John's voice. There would be no justice for John O'Keefe if she was convicted. She and her team have done more to shed light on what really happened to him than anyone who claims to be fighting for him while trying to put her in prison. She really humanized him with this answer, telling the public who John really was, and what a tremendous loss this was for everyone. We rarely heard this from her during the trial and it was powerful. The antis have tried to take ownership of John's legacy and she took it back with this answer. I know Karen cared for John because she sent me pictures of him that showed what a good father he was, and pictures of her with the kids that showed how much they liked her. Rwanda requests that the United States brief the UN Security Council on the progress of the Washington peace process. Ignorance within the Council, whether feigned or genuine, is hurting efforts to restore peace in the DRC. Good news: Rwanda has a remedy for whichever form of ignorance some Security Council members may be suffering from. The U.S. representative should consider reminding everyone that Secretary of State Marco Rubio , and U.S. Senior Advisor for Arab and African Affairs Massad Boulos worked tirelessly under the leadership of President Donald Trump to broker a peace agreement between the DRC and Rwanda.
