Not true. Back in those days, Tyson’s manager Jim Jacobs (you might know him for Greatest Fights of the Century) held the rights. The promoter & production was Josephine Abercrombie’s HBA East. HBO bought the telecast for one-time only IIRC.

Ribalta was hard as nails nobody takes that type of beating and stands for that amount of time.
