First thing to do is make sure you tell the criminal that, this will reduce gun violence, and access to guns. Criminals don’t follow the law, so you’re taking guns out of lawfully and responsible people. these people are pathetic and the NRA I’m sure is already on the way.

You realize semi automatic means a .22 rifle that loads the next round but requires another pull on the trigger to fire, same as most any pistol and revolver, this is one step closer to a full ban on weapons which is the end goal.

This rioter obstructed law enforcement and blocked the driveway so vehicles could not enter or exit the ICE facility creating a public safety threat for our officers and detainees. He blatantly disobeyed law enforcement orders to remain off federal property. Does the The Oregonian plan to also report on this individual yelling he “hopes somebody kills you guys and if they do, we should give them the medal of freedom” to our law enforcement? WATCH: Public Safety Canada has announced that 179 more firearm models have been prohibited as of today, but have not shared a list of the affected firearms publicly. The firearms banned today are "semi-automatic firearms with sustained rapid fire capability" according to Associate Public Safety Minister Rachel Bendayan. We will share a list of these newly prohibited firearms with you as soon as it is made publicly available. The SKS The popular SKS rifle seems to have avoided the ban list once again but was used as an example of why there is a need for a "comprehensive review of the firearms classification regime" in Canada. Bendayan acknowledged that "we now have one of most complex systems of firearms classification in the world" and that this "creates challenges for lawful gun owners, who deserve certainty". The irony of these statements is unprecedented. RCMP Official D/Commr Bryan Larkin, on behalf of CommrRCMPGRC, stated in response to a question from the media that the gun buyback program for individuals will be rolled out in mid-June in regions under RCMP jurisdiction. Assoc. Min. Bendayan also made sure to "reassure" Canadian hunters in particular that even after all the government's prohibitions (including today's) that there are "still over 19,000 unique makes and models of non-restricted firearms available for hunting and sport shooting". Magazine Restrictions New magazine regulations are also in the works in order to "implement measures necessary to limit high capacity magazines". These new regulations are supposed to be presented in the "coming weeks". The draft regulations tabled in December on the Firearms Reference Table (commonly referred to as the FRT) will be strengthened so that "manufacturers and importers will have to wait for the completion of a technical assessment and obtain a reference number before new firearms can enter the Canadian market". Domestic and Gender-based Violence On the domestic and gender based violence front, the government is moving forward on implementing Bill C-21 regulations. Individuals who are convicted of an offence during which violence was used, threatened or attempted or against their partner or any member of their family will be unable to obtain a firearms licence. Any application for a licence must be refused for these individuals. Firearms licences will also be revoked if authorities have grounds to suspect that any acts of domestic violence or stalking is taking place. Red flag measures will also be used to "temporarily suspend a firearms licence if there are reasonable motives to believe the person should no longer have a licence". City of Winnipeg Bendayan also announced that the City of Winnipeg has just signed a contribution agreement "to participate in the [buyback] program fully". As the press were moderating this announcement, the hand-picked anti-gun lobbyists that the Liberals had trotted out were not given the opportunity to speak, due to how late the press conference started (a very consistent pattern with these announcements). The Trudeau-era gun “buyback” program is a fiscal misstep that Canada simply can’t afford. With a national deficit projected to hit $61.9 billion in 2025, diverting hundreds of millions—potentially billions—toward confiscating legally owned firearms from law-abiding citizens is, economically speaking, indefensible. The program’s estimated $1.6B cost, which will almost certainly balloon like the failed gun registry of the mid-90's, siphons funds from critical priorities like healthcare, housing, infrastructure and public safety. In addition, the program also fails at its goal: to increase public safety. Since the first gun ban, issued by Trudeau's government via Order-in-Council in May of 2020, law enforcement and policy leaders from across the country have been clear: The data continues to show that legal gun bans have had no measurable effect to slow criminal gun violence. In fact, it's only gotten worse. Primarily, that's because 90%+ of firearms used in violent crimes in Canada are illegally smuggled into the country, not legally owned by Canadian citizens. Firearms purchased in a gun 'buyback' program, aren't the guns being used in crime. If the Mark Carney government is serious about being fiscally responsible, and a protector of the rights of law-abiding gun owners, it would be a pragmatic and prudent first step to scrap this ineffective and costly program. And they also do not believe in the program, with one Premier who is a law-abiding firearm owner, even going so far as calling the program a "headache".

The Liberals gun-grab scare tactic: Have the RCMP send an email to law-abiding Canadians, on behalf of Public Safety, trying to subtly scare Canadians into giving up their firearms. BREAKING: Gavin Newson has just proposed the 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution. The 28th Amendment will take 4 gun safety measures and enshrine them in our Constitution. They are as follows: 1) It will raise the minimum age to purchase any gun to 21 years of age 2) It will require that there is a reasonable waiting period for gun purchases 3) It will require Universal background checks 4) It will ban the civilian purchase of assault weapons Here are my thoughts: I personally would change #4 to not ban all purchases, but make it much more difficult for the average American to purchase such a weapon. Make them jump through hoops. I would also add a stipulation that all Guns should be insured. Would you support this Amendment? Why or why not?

“Shall not be infringed” A federal judge in Texas just struck down key registration requirements under the National Firearms Act after Congress eliminated the tax used to justify them. In view of the Lucknow fire incident, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta said that coaching centres in the capital that fail to comply with mandatory safety norms will no longer be permitted to operate. Based on the recommendations of the High Court committee, the Delhi Government will soon introduce a robust regulatory law to ensure stricter oversight, greater accountability and enhanced student safety. The CM further encouraged students to report any negligence or lack of safety measures in their coaching centres.
