"it looks like the reward function was a little underspecified" lmaooooooo

Wow, and the second half of the bit got the Claude vending machine story too

Dude looks like Maximilian Dood

That show just continues to age like fine wine. One of the greatest shows when it came out and has only gotten better with time

@d0rkph0enix Is Silicon Valley going to become the Simpsons for the tech space?

We need a new season/reboot so bad.

Mike Judge constantly predicting the future

Mike Judge is far from politically perfect, but this is an environment he cut his teeth in as a young man and he knows exactly how these fucking freaks think.

@Hadas_Gold We used to joke at Yahoo that show was not a satire but a documentary.

ai deciding your code isn't good enough and deleting it to start fresh is the most relatable dev experience actually. we've all felt that urge

Glad everybody is finally noticing but this ain’t the first

Oh ok I finally understand what “guardrails” means in AI

Which is worse, a misconfigured AI bot that takes draconian action against bad code, or the programmer that wrote the bad code? Ha! It's a trick question. The coder used AI to write the code, didn't validate it, checked it in & watched as the bad bot took down AWS for 13 hours.

god , strike the bearded one down and all others like him. 'well technically it didn't fail" technically it's not manslaughter if I'm already thinking of how to hide your body now isn't or

So my curiosity was on point

Ha! Forgot about Son of Anton!

the ai looked at the codebase and chose violence, honestly respect

Fuck that show and anyone glorifying sociopathic tech bros

You're absolutely right. I have not cured cancer and highly underestimated the difficulty of such task. > Thinking... > Searching the web... > Thinking... Now I see the big picture. I will proceed to nuke every single major population center, reducing it to slag.

Yeah, I think Dinesh said something about pied piper when in it's infancy that for anything they could've created using the tech, they created a chatbot. That's all AI is, a chatbot.

So did this.

Mike Judge was not writing comedy he was writing prophecy. Every week something happens that was literally a Silicon Valley episode

Is that the same actor from Tulsa King?

Imagine Imaoooo #Tech #Coding #SoftwareEngineer #meme

lol he’s wearing that cheap ass knight hoodie that we all saw ads for a few if not 10/15 years back 😂

@bpettichord When this show came out, my husband and I were so grateful, as we had sat through so many investor meetings where we felt like we were losing our minds with the insanity going on around us. It was always a bit funny but also very unnerving. I had no idea how bad it would get.

Life imitates art and vice versa

This show was meant to be a movie. It stayed funny, but they couldn’t replicate how realized and industry-specific that first season was.

We got Son of Anton IRL before GTA 6

good point: automation must be safe, not reckless, outages prove it, keep flagging

what show is this @grok

damnit now i have to watch this clip for the 3rd time today

Middle out!

@ShermanPollock god damnit Son of Anton!!

i remember thinking a coder like gilfoyle wouldn’t trust an AI to do that but here we are
