This is an unfortunate situation though the young man has a point. In today’s Nigeria, learning a skilled trade is better than getting a certificate from a Nigerian school. This is because certificates from Nigerian schools won’t fetch you a job in developed countries but your knowledge of a skilled trade can exponentially boost your earnings potential and enable you to establish faster. It is better to arrive the US as a skilled mechanic than as a Nigerian PHD holder.

This certificate forgery issue that the Supreme Court of Nigeria swept under the carpet would hunt this country for years to come I’m happy @atiku did all he could to reshape the destiny of this country by going for the truth, how would anyone convince the youths that hardwork pays when it now seems that that’s a part towed by the weak in our society My humble advice to young graduates struggling in this situation is, Don’t give up, it’s not even a option & don’t allow circumstances dictate your actions, keep pressing on genuinely, someday we’ll have a great Nigeria. It is POssible

This is true! Every certificate I got studying in Naija was a waste? Upon all the stress and frustration I went through. Chai, God why? I wish I could do same honestly! The most useless document I have. I can’t even remember where I kept it since 2009! Useless country

It’s just the beginning this is exactly the mindset of millions of Nigerian youths and you think there wouldn’t be an uprising soon.

Your leaders are without certificates. They forged certificates to become governors, senators, House of Representatives, Presidents. The serious citizens who suffered to get original certificates are living without jobs. Criminals are the ones ruling in various positions of authority in Nigeria

Mr Dele, you have so much water in your eyes. With his T-shirt written Buhari must go means it's not recent, secondly, those documents are colored laminated copies.

And even the jobs available you have like 500k persons applying for the same job and you that just came out of school they are asking you for 3-5years experience on a similar role. This is indeed funny as it is very sad. However, learning a skill before or after graduation is very important in Nigeria of nowadays. "Cos if you don't, no one is coming to save you. 🤦‍♂️

This is all gimmicks to me; agreed the country is hard, but what value has the actor created in himself courtesy of the knowledge gained from attaining those certificates. The essence of education is not to get caged in a 9 - 5 job alone, but its also about creating value for society and in return capturing some values back in the form of profit. Scaling up of that value creation process through innovations make the entrepreneur/ investor/founder; an employer of labour, thereby creating employments. Its questionable the sort of schools and certifying processes this young-man has been through and his value system. Let us be guided. You don’t destroy your birth certificate because life is hard on you, and if you choose to destroy it; does not undermine the fact that you’ve been born. Education is not inherent in the certificate given but in the value creation culture impacted and imbibed.

Not growing my barbershop 💈 business and leaving it rot all in the name that being a university graduate is the key to success , is the most deceptive term constantly used in Nigeria. I regret being a graduate and not using those 5yrs 4 something more productive.
