Unpopular opinion but this movie was so good they could have picked anyone to play Ripley and it still would have been amazing.

Sigourney Weaver has a pretty stupid opinion in this regard. Aliens was a movie where a government controlled marine force was send to a colony to investigate. Her character wasn't running around with random civilians shooting at shit to promote hunting or self defense...
