This makes me so glad we teach both cursive and financial literacy in our county ❤️ Anyone else find this depressing?

I would love to randomly be given a skill question like this. I could use a random $427 any day of the week.

No cents exactly like all of these mfs NO SENSE

How do people go through life and not know how to write a check? How do you seriously rent an apartment, set up direct deposit, or buy a car without this knowledge? Four Hundred Twenty Seven and 00/100 = $427.00

Unreal. Those are not grade schoolers, they’re at least high schoolers or young adults.

No one writes checks anymore. I never learned. Had to look this up. Maybe if I were a businessman and dealt with ppl writing checks, but I'm not. Big whooop.

I think that they can’t read cursive is the bigger factor here.

Again outdated. I learned in 3rd grade but regardless when do you ever encounter it? Some random guy trying to get a gotcha because ppl dont know how to read cursive, Not relevant in the real world.

@MichelleMaxwell signatures, reading historical documents, writing faster in general, etc. it’s not outdated.

@MichelleMaxwell Ppl literally just type. I type faster than I can think. Again. You can just ask A.i to transcribe said historical document to print. Ofc caring enough to read historical documents is also very niche. Signatures are BS anyways. They don't even need to be cursive.

It’s the “and” that’s throwing them off lmaoooo

It blew my mind when I heard cursive was a dead language.

Nga said “where you getting the four from “

427.00

They were clearly confused, and I don't blame them, by that oddball fraction unnecessarily added to the end of the number. How about removing it, writing the amount line properly, and then seeing how they do: "Four hundred and twenty seven dollars only."

I always write my Grandchildren high school graduation cards in cursive for fun.

Millennials barely write checks so no surprise Gen Z is confused by this.

What's with the random fraction? Doesn't belong on a cheque.

lol I just wrote checks out today.

My Ukrainian wife has been making a cookbook for our 16 yr old. He looked through it yesterday and told me he needed Google translate in order to use it. I told him it was all in English. His response: it's in cursive.

These people vote. 🤦🏼♂️

It’s certainly very possible that they’ve never written a check before most people use credit cards or debit cards now. I haven’t used checks in over at least 15 years.

Being stupid is a clear sign of educational failures

The fraction 00/100 means 0 cents. There’s 100 cents in a dollar.

It’s not a bug, it’s a feature of the system.

We’re cooked as a society. We’re doomed. 😂

I'm middle aged. I barely write checks anymore, so I'm not surprised these idgits don't know how to read that thing.

I give it like a 95% chance that the actual check was written like shit, there's no way these people haven't cashed a check before.

This is a joke right?? Please tell me it’s a joke.

Where the FUCK are they getting the thousand from… genuinely

My 92 year old father in law said our youth is stupid! Can’t disagree. Why does our education system want them to be this way is the question,

and they vote!

I have had to teach at least a dozen people how to fill out checks and money orders. It is profoundly sad. Those debit cards teach nothing.

well younger people have never used checks.. but as a 23 year old that has worked in retail i know it’s $427.00.. it’s just sad they don’t have much common sense either..

Scary

Fuck why can’t I ever run into these people

Are we this doomed?

The whole generation is doomed 🤦🏻♂️

Ive only writen a check once and not once did I ever see 00/100
