Pizzagate was specifically intended to distract from the Miami Herald articles on Epstein and Trump. That’s literally why that bullshit 1st popped up. To deflect attention off Trump, & to accuse an innocent Hillary Clinton. With Republicans, every accusation is a confession.

The wild part is how both things can be true at once. The original Pizzagate conspiracy was nonsense and got innocent people harassed, which let a lot of powerful folks dismiss any talk of elite abuse as crazy by association. But then you see real stories of trafficking, protection networks, and powerful people dodging accountability, and it retroactively makes the whole thing feel like misdirection. Like the public was pointed to a cartoon villain, so they would stop looking at the real ones. Moral panic is fake. Institutional rot is not. Sorting those two out is the hard part, and almost nobody in politics or media has an incentive to do it honestly.
