The reason for the uproar is because DEI, having landed on British soil and infected even the supposed gold standard of high education, represents a clear and present threat to our sense-making institutions. Arday was not qualified to teach at any level and was a pathological liar. Cambridge ignored this for years because of his race. This is a problem in universities throughout the West. The other examples he cites are not comparable.

For years the Left has elevated certain groups based only on superficial criteria, and shamed anyone who dared question its unfair, generalising and hypocritical nature. People are tired of this, and Arday became a big story because the shaming does not longer work.
