I see both sides of the argument. Trusting the collective knowledge and scientific consensus of accredited third-party experts absolutely has its place. At the same time, how often do we exercise our own judgment and choose not to follow the law, conventional wisdom, or expert consensus? Do you always eat healthy? Did you get every recommended booster? Some people naturally lean toward self-reliance and homesteading; others prefer living in highly connected, interdependent cities. People have different values, tolerances for risk, and ideas about how they want to live. Why should we assume there is one universally correct way to navigate all of this?
