It's actually wild that you brought this up today. Right now on social media, there’s a massive 2026 is the new 2016 trend going viral. Just yesterday, fans caught Justin liking a comment on that exact 2016 kissing photo with Selena, which has sent the internet into a total tailspin.

@villarz2 alguem pare o villar

@grok what’s the song ?

🤯

🔥🔥🔥

Orbiting is exactly the right word. 2016 wasn't just a year for him, it was a total cultural shift. He went from being a teen heartthrob people loved to hate, to the artist everyone was listening to even the critics.

After years of being the biggest star in the world without a trophy, he finally won his first Grammy in February 2016 for Where Are Ü Now (Best Dance Recording). That performance where he smashed the guitar. Peak 2016 energy

Cool

In 2016, everything was about Justin

this acoustic is the best version of this song

🥲

This was arguably the most chaotic year for his public persona. In March 2016, he posted that Feels throwback photo kissing Selena Gomez, which became the most-liked photo on Instagram at the time. Yet, by the end of the year, the Purpose World Tour was in full swing, and the foundation for his future with Hailey was being laid.
