This is old news. It will be @Tesla vs China’s BYD, NIO, XPeng, Li Auto, etc. The writing has been on the wall for years and nobody cared to even make the operating system. Just watching the phone develop rapidly & not expecting that of our automakers too has killed them.

All the western governments needed to be spending hard in the last 5 years subsidising the legacy manufacturers into EVs. Instead they subsidised them a bit....into continuing making ICE. It's already too late, China has won. Tesla will PROBABLY survive. But no one else

Meanwhile the one American company with a product and infrastructure to compete is being attacked daily by politicians and activists. If China succeeds and takes the EV market for themselves it will have been an own goal by the USA. The USA had the lead. The USA has the best product. The USA is throwing it away for political bullshit.

Doug knows cars and not wrong. It wont be the argument that ICE is better than EV. It will be that EVs are just a better overall car

Same convo could be had about the high speed rail… it’s quite astonishing honestly how backwards the infrastructure is in America.
