Take a 6-year-old Dutch child who has just learned to read. Have him read a page of English. It will be the highlight of Silent Letter Day.

It's Silent Letter Day! French: "hold my beer"

The subject is funny, but it's his delivery that nails it.

Didn’t realise there were so many silent K before Ns wtf is this language man

Never jam my youba people. We take that “h” very seriously

😹 i can hear stewie

He kept pronouncing knife with a silent e. hmmm....

He is the BEST!!!!

😄😄😄😄😄 When I taught my Chinese friend English, I always explained the origins of those words. However, she drew the line with the inflections of the verbs: some never change (run); others change unrecognizably (bear). She threw in the towel with, "English is too busy."

Seriously, when is silent letter day?😂🙃

He sort of missed some silent e's in words like k-nife

This bloke is painfully unfunny! Imagine making a career out of just basically ‘describing things that happen’?! There is a reason for everything he’s saying, and he knows it, but he’s playing of the stupidity of his fans! Some people are far too easily pleased…

I have to ask --- wouldn't it be "k-nif-e" and "g-nom-e" on Silent Letter Day?

He's about as funny as piles...

He's about as funny as a kick in the bollocks.

Nothing beats it, absolutely nothing! No matter how long the world keeps turning. 😀

Sounds like he's doing a German accent.

That is how I practised English words. 😁 I am a Finn, and Finnish writing is about exactly phonetic.

My adorbs French friend pronounces the h in hour.

Cringe. Completely unfunny.

He is the English Seinfeld. His bit about passwords is amazing.

In case anyone wonders why: Hellenic words that their vowel would take a spiritus asper (ΩΡΑ - ὥρα) will ALWAYS transliterate with an H or S in Latin. ὥρα - hora Ερμής - Hermes Ελλάς - Hellas Ερπετό - Serpent and so on. The English simply loaned it From Latin.

This isn't even remotely funny.

"Hour" - you haven't met the Yoruba people. 😂🤣

Serbian should be the international language😉 One letter = one voice, or “write as you speak, read as you write”, it’s that simple.

That’s Ismo’s skit, unspelled letters. He seems to steal that from Ismo.

Well I’m talking like that no problem thoUGH

If you think sandwich belongs on your list of examples, that's on you. Nobody told you the d is silent, ffs, you must just not be able to say it properly.

The ending after too much champagne should of been about getting into k-nickers

For a giggle, Share this to all the “foLks” you k-now. Lol

But people did speak like that a long time ago....

No it’s not.

This causes no laugh in serbia. We have phonetic alphabet, so we spell english just like michael says...

🤪🤪😝

😂😂😂😂
