The entire interaction with the desk Sargent is utterly retarded. “How does a gun buy back turn into a homicide?” Gun buy backs very often recover weapons used in previous crimes. Some of those crimes are homicides. “No questions asked” promotionals DO NOT absolve a person from being investigated for actual violent crimes. The “no questions” only pertains to unregistered weapons, illegal options or accessories (like large capacity magazines, silencers, full auto configured, etc…), and weapons not allowed in certain states. Buy backs are not an amnesty for criminals to offload weapons they used to kill someone. Whoever wrote that character’s lines was likely the same uninformed, anti-gun lefty retard who shits their pants just driving by a gun shop because they literally believe a GUN may jump out of the store a shoot them. Just as bad though is they portray a police SERGEANT as being an absolute idiot about what buy backs are actually meant to achieve: DISARM CITIZENS.

To me it looks like they cast people who look like they would be cops in a uk series.

That's absurd. They didn't need to ask questions; the information was offered. If there are prints on the gun and it connects to a crime, that's not a question. They should wipe their prints off if they're genuinely concerned about that.
