This might perfectly summarize WNBA media coverage. Holly Rowe is crying tears of joy over a packed arena in Toronto... while somehow failing to mention THE WOMAN EVERYBODY CAME TO SEE. Caitlin Clark’s first WNBA game in Canada. Packed house. And still they twist themselves into pretzels rather than...

What a phony. If you're a professional and you're crying over a filled area that has happened how many times when CC plays and doesn't happen when CC doesn't play, you shouldn't have your job.

Toronto was on a 10 game losing streak and all of the sudden a full house, wonder why.

Caitlin Clark focused and being a great athlete by blocking out all the noise and remains resilient, focused, and not forgetting to thank the fans, signing autographs after the game.

Exactly 💯, just like she didn't believe that Caitlin brought the audience in arenas and viewership to the WNBA her rookie season, claiming it was already on a huge trajectory before CC. She always diminishing the Caitlin Clark effect in a sneaky way.

She's ignorant when she says "We have 19000 people here tonight to watch women's basketball." No. You have 19000 people there tonight to watch CAITLIN CLARK. She's an insufferably crying dumbass.

@sportsiren if it wasn’t for Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham you could not fill this arena. Maybe say thank you to them

This is idiotic. A journalist going online being emotional about a sellout. Holly Rowe is a joke.

Toronto has lost 10 games in a row. They're awful. Everyone came to see Caitlin.

Strange how when Dallas came to town they posted the “Largest crowd on WNBA HISTORY” blah blah blah, but somehow this didn’t happen? Strange indeed. You know. Almost like it didn’t happen. I didn’t know tickets sales meant attendance but apparently tears are better. Who knew.

The stupidest league in the world, won’t lean in to the star driving revenue for them, with the players union being just as stupid not understanding who is responsible for higher wages. It’s understandable why they haven’t ever profited.

I wasn’t a fan of Holly Rowe. I cut her some slack for a long time due to her struggles with cancer. Grace period is over.

No doubt she’s the reason. However, Clark needs to show some backbone on the lunacy of the WNBA’s policies around trans.

You mean you had 19,000 Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham fans that came in tonight, Holly Rowe? 😏

EXACTLY!!! Like what we heard when the Mother & Daughter were ejected for wearing “XX” Pro girl T shirts, who described paying $1000 per seat ticket at the Atlanta Dream game. This kind of demand & revenue did not exist before Caitlin Clark … & they HATE her for that.

Holly knows. As a professional see CANT say that. If you actually watched CC at Carver, you’d know that Holly was there many many times. From one CC fan to another, this particular incident isn’t a big deal.

Thank to Caitlin Clark the arena is full, much like everywhere else she plays in. Get rid of the thug ball, nobody likes it. They want to see the game played at the highest level not the ghetto level.

It’s these times i wish CC would take up golf/leave this league so they can see her influence as the league would go backwards. She gets fans and gets eyes on other players but her treatment does not go unnoticed and if she’s gone those eyes will leave. Who’ll they blame then.

Holly, do the sport a favor and quit. Try being a waitress or something productive. Next, you'll say the sellout was because of the ball-hog, punk Ghetto Player Angel Reese. @sportsiren

Next game in Toronto at home will probably be back in their 8,500 seat venue - not the big 21K one.

She should go to Toronto's next home game and see if it still brings her to tears.

Ordinarily the Toronto.WNBA team plays in an arena that seats 8,500. To accomodate ticket demand for Caitlin Clark they moved the game to the Scotiabank Arena, which seats 18,000.

Simply Explained: Dave Portnoy CROSSES THE LINE, Caitlin Clark BLOCKS Him Forever! Caitlin Clark just blocked Dave Portnoy, and the internet is going crazy. But this isn't just typical celebrity drama - this block reveals something major about the McCaffrey family controversy that most people completely missed. In this video, we break down exactly what happened between Caitlin Clark and Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, why the WNBA superstar took the nuclear option of blocking him on social media, and how this connects to the McCaffrey family situation that's been developing behind the scenes. The McCaffrey family connection is crucial to understanding this story. Caitlin Clark is dating Connor McCaffrey, whose brother Christian is the NFL star running back. Luke McCaffrey is married to Britt McCaffrey, who was actually Caitlin's teammate at Iowa. When Portnoy made comments involving this family, he crossed into territory that Caitlin clearly considers off-limits. This isn't the first time Caitlin has set firm boundaries with media personalities. We also explore her pattern of controlling access, including tension with beat reporters and her selective approach to interviews. She's proving that superstar athletes in 2025 don't have to tolerate media intrusion the way previous generations did. Dave Portnoy built Barstool Sports into a media empire by being unfiltered and provocative, but Caitlin Clark just showed him there are consequences when you cross certain lines. By blocking him, she removed his access to her massive platform and sent a message that's reverberating throughout sports media. This situation perfectly captures the changing relationship between athletes and sports media in the social media era. Caitlin Clark has the leverage to decide who gets access and who doesn't, and she's not afraid to use it when someone disrespects her family. Whether you're Team Caitlin or Team Portnoy, this story reveals something important about boundaries, privacy, and power in modern sports media. 🔔 SUBSCRIBE for more breaking basketball news, WNBA coverage, and sports media drama analysis!
