Gareth Edwards' stunning visuals only make this sequence even more iconic, and I'll always appreciate how they utilized unused footage from 1977 to further interconnect this story to the original Star Wars film. Can't believe it's almost been a decade since I first watched this in theaters, seeing this in IMAX with a packed crowd back in 2016 was unreal.

The final act of Rogue One will always be peak Star Wars, the Battle of Scarif isn’t talked about nearly as much as it should be. Wish I could go back to 2016 to experience this again on opening night in a packed theater.

Darth Vader’s never looked cooler than in the final moments of Rogue One. When that red light saber turned on, the theater shook. This has to be considered an all-time Star Wars moment within an all-time Star Wars film. Rogue One is a film Star Wars fans deserved.

This man was so powerful and influential as at that time, he was called king of boys, he was so popular and powerful that, if a governor wants to enter into power, they must first consult him, I only heard of his name and fame and have never witnessed the power he carries even though I am this kind of person that never believes in black magic until this faithful day....

This scene in TOTAL RECALL absolutely BLEW my mind when I watched it in 1990. That experience was incredibly influential on my screenwriting. The gut-punch, the fun of being totally, 100% surprised, and the emotion of hating the bad guys so dam much. I don't think I have ever written a twist where I wasn't trying to recapture that feeling I had when I first saw it. But how do you match it? The story, the concept, all lined up for it. Everything comes together in that moment. And the execution is so perfect! Those smirks! The flippancy. And the way Cohaagen (Ronny Cox) steps into frame... The whole story is a fun, over-the-top, mind-trip, but it's this moment that made TOTAL RECALL one of my favorites. I love this movie.
