This moment when the penny drops that trying to implement bathroom bans is an impossibility for the former Tory Chief Secretary Simon Clarke is delicious.

how have these people still, somehow, literally not once considered this part of it despite raving endlessly about it for years how on Earth has nobody confronted them with this before

Looking for the perfect PRO-TRUMP gag gift?

I don't think he even knew female to male transitioning was a thing.

Delicious. I am SO looking forward to the first TERF popping up to tell us 'but we've covered that - if you look masculine, whether you're any kind of man or any kind of woman you won't be allowed into women's spaces'. Because this is all about women's rights right? Right?

If a man is intent on following a woman into the toilets because he intends to harm her then I don’t think the designation of those toilets is going to stop him anyway do you? Just a ridiculous place we have found ourselves in with this

A transwoman is not a threat to women, a man coming in pretending to be a transman IS. Making us more unsafe for the sake of a mistakenly perceived threat.

Most laws are 'unenforceable' if you don't start from the assumption that most people will just follow the rules, and you will only need to 'police' infractions in a limited way, either by punishing them when they happen, or sometimes by using spot checks e.g. We are only allowed to drive on the roads if we have a licence. The system does not require a police officer on every car door to check. Rather, it depends on generally law abiding behaviour and severe consequences for those who breach the rules. For years, we have had single sex toilets and other provision in this country, social norms about using them, and people pretty much just went into the right facilities of their own volition. Were this not actually the case, the trans rights movement wouldn't have had to engage in a massive effort going around the country and misinforming public bodies about the law, in order to change social norms about how such provision was organised. In theory, all that needs to happen now is for people to go back to the previous set of norms that we had before. But what is really striking here is that the idea that we would now need some kind of state enforced gatekeeping on single sex facilities - or the imagined genital checks - only makes sense on the basis of the assumptions that people are not going to respect the norms, and the law, and are going to try and violate them at every available opportunity.

It's like he completely malfunctions..

Weird you'd go on a programme to be interviewed and know absolutely nothing about the issue whatsoever.

How will we be able to tell which one is the real man??? 😭

Not necessarily, the equality act allows for trans men to be refused entry to female toilets if it could cause distress to women, it’s a choice transmen make 🤷♀️

Not really. He's just not up to speed. The Supreme Court has already considered and provided guidance on this eventuality.

Good thing the judgement covered that then.

Ahh it's glorious, an idiotic idea pushed by idiots that falls apart as soon as anyone actually puts an ounce of thought into it. How would you enforce it? Good luck with that, the mother all lawsuits is going to be filled if someone is misgendered because they don't fit the "normal" sterotypes.

This made me laugh. A LOT

They know absolutely nothing about trans people or our lives other than naively falling for and believing the lurid nonsense peddled by so called gender critical transphobes.

Ok mr trans man, can we have your identification please. Run checks like with GP, if they’re lying, it’s on the sex offenders register with them and charged with perverting the course of justice. A few of those hit the news, the nonces stop trying to access women’s spaces.

I think the issue here is that a trans man who is biologically a woman will not cause any great concern in a men’s toilet. I see no great issue if nobody complains. Even better if the trans man looks like a man.

absolute conviction on a subject they've not even had cursury thoughts about

It's not delicious; it's fu¢king disgraceful! These people have been harassing, abusing and slandering trans people for years to get this stupid nonsensical ruling, and the vast majority of them haven't the slightest clue what they're even angry about or who will be affected.

"Biological woman"

Yes it’s a mess isn’t it. We used to manage it just fine. When everyone knew that only women were allowed in women’s loos.

Doesn't matter. Everythlught the smoking ban wouldn't work. In fact, very few people break it and it doesn't really require policing. What laws like this do is reinforce what is acceptable or not. Absolutely clear now that it is unacceptable for males to be in female only spaces

No it’s not impossible, no MAN even if he identifies as a woman should be allowed in women’s spaces. And if found in women’s spaces will be committing a crime. If a man dressed as a woman looks that convincing then there’s not much anyone can do, other than put security on.

We have speed limits, bans on using mobile phones at the wheel etc which are near impossible to police. Doesn't mean we don't have these rules. Your own personal bad if you decide to disregard them. Most people will comply and that's the main thing. The expectation is clear.

Trans use the disabled. Simple

I think everyone understands it will continue to be based on the honour system with everyone who passes as a particular sex, whether they are or aren't, using the same washroom. The fact it can't be policed beyond that doesn't really matter.

If I were a predator my choices would be: 1) just barge into a cubicle, nobody can stop me anyway and sexual assault is effectively decriminalised so there's about 1% chance of conviction 2) take year of hormones to radically alter my appearance and lifestyle or now...

Which is why they’re actually vying for full legal segregation. These people’s ignorance has destroyed and will continue to destroy lives

I wish they wouldn’t cut these videos before the response.

This is delicious. Has they REALLY not thought that through?? No, of course not, despite them being told again and again!!!

I've been saying this for ages.

Using own sex bathrooms has been in place for very many years It’s not a new concept. People need to stop complicating something that really isn’t complicated at all. Use the bathroom in accordance with your sex. If men’s spaces aren’t safe for *all* males, address that issue.

The ruling is 'biologically born"...

Nope, use the toilet your biology says. Thats it. Otherwise you will get the non-binary saying they want their own and then the other 100 different groups wanting the same. Just treat them as their in fancy dress..... which in fact they are.....
