I received a special message from the South Korean President, H.E Yoon Suk Yeol. It was delivered by his Special Envoy, Mr. Sungmin Jang at State House Entebbe. In the beginning, we had relations with South Korea only, but later on, we linked up with North Korea and continue to have good relations with both. I told Mr. Sungmin Jang that Uganda is always looking forward to the peaceful unification of Korea, like it was for Vietnam and Germany. I congratulate Korea for rapidly transforming and welcome Korean companies to do business in Uganda.

There is evidence that North Korea’s alliance with Moscow brings little economic benefit - researcher Olena Huseynova from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul, in a study for the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, reported by Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ). I was not surprised when I read this - Russia always lies and betrays its partners when it has the chance. There are reports that Russia is also helping North Korea develop its unmanned devices program. But I'm curious how that partnership is playing out. North Korea provided Russian forces with weapons, ammunition, and troops worth up to $9.8 billion (over a third of its annual economy) while direct Russian supplies to North Korea totaled only $1.2 billion, according to the study. South Korean intelligence notes growing tension between Kim Jong Un and Putin. North Korea sent soldiers and large amounts of weaponry, expecting food, arms support, strategic technology, or economic compensation. Russia has not sufficiently reciprocated. Kim reportedly complained to Putin, who responded with reproach. A week ago, something big happened in the blockchain world, and it went under the radar of all #CryptoNews media outlets. 🙈🙉🙊 For the ✨first time ever✨ the Swiss Government together with Stadt Zug and Swiss Blockchain Federation awarded Lifetime Achievement Awards to the Ethereum co-founders as part of the #ETH10X event at CV Summit 2024 hosted by CV Labs in #CryptoValley Zug, Switzerland. 🏔️🇨🇭🙌 The Swiss Finance Minister Karin Keller-Sutter kicked off the awards ceremony by emphasizing Switzerland's role in promoting innovation: "As a finance minister, I am not only the guardian of the state treasury, but also responsible for a stable, healthy, and innovative financial market. In blockchain technology, we see a new technology that has enormous potential to change the way financial services are provided." In the audience, we had many blockchain industry leaders, bank representatives, and ~70 top Swiss politicians attending, including the mayor of Stadt Zug André Wicki, the Zug Financial Director and President of Swiss Blockchain Federation Heinz Tännler and 2 former presidents of Switzerland. Beyond the epic awards received, the even bigger thing is the fact that, in a world where blockchain innovation is still largely a topic of debate for many governments, here we have a government officially acknowledging and awarding Ethereum for the #blockchain innovation it has brought to its country. This is unprecedented. I hope Switzerland is just the first out of many other governments embracing permissionless public blockchains while offering better business environments for crypto entrepreneurs. It has been a long ride since I coined the term "Crypto Valley" on 27 Jan 2014 to convey the vision of a blockchain ecosystem to the local Economic Development team of Zug to this moment. Along the way, the former president of Switzerland present at the ceremony, Ueli Maurer took the Crypto Valley meme to the next level when he evolved it into "Crypto Nation". And now, with thousands of companies and people working on crypto projects in Crypto Valley and Switzerland, we see that it's not just empty talk or hype marketing. This is a government with decentralization in its DNA, that is walking the talk. And how is that trending?” “But importantly, which of those will accrue more benefit, and as a result, drive more hours spent from AI?” “One way to think about this thesis is that AI is going to ultimately accrue to video game entertainment far more than social media entertainment or traditional content.” “If you believe in AI, and you believe in the improvements in productivity, generally speaking, people in the industrialized world will generally have more free time on their hands and be able to support themselves with the deflationary effects of AI over time.” “So if there's more time on people's hands, the general market for entertainment is growing, and if the general market for entertainment is growing, gaming is the future of entertainment, and the future of gaming is AI.” “Because I think you can create dynamic, more engaging experiences that will benefit from a back and forth sort of relationship than you can with traditional content or with social media.” “If you're a noob in Fortnite, like you're an early player in Fortnite, you're mostly playing against AI, because what they do is they tune the AI to be easier to beat so that you can slowly develop your skills.” “What was happening early was they were seeing a high degree of churn in Fortnite because kids would go on and play for the first time and they'd get paired up with kids that were better than them, and so they would never win, and they would get frustrated and they would quit the game and stop.” “So the churn rate was high. So AI unlocked higher engagement and higher retention, and I think we're seeing that in a lot of different gaming platforms now.” “So AI can be used, for example, to maximally increase time, engagement, satisfaction, happiness.”
