I recorded this video five years ago in my Brooklyn garden, Back then, I felt safe in America. I thought I had finally found a refuge. But this is the same garden where a man with an AK-47 hired by Islamic Republic hid behind my sunflowers to kill me. Even now, I get goosebumps saying it. many ppl asked these years if yang yang is retired since doesn't come out often, well here u go 🐑: during that period, people didn't like me as much, so I came out to meet everyone less often.. 💔 yang yang: as an actor, you actually get more attention, and everyone has many expectations of you. over the past two years, I haven't appeared in front of the audience that often. (hesitates).. well, it's okay to talk about it, just face it bravely, right? these past two years, I really haven't been in the public eye much, because for some roles, people at the time might have felt the effect wasn't that great. and I also felt that maybe during that period, people didn't like me as much, so I came out to meet everyone less often. instead, I just stayed grounded, as an actor, and tried to take on some different roles and perform them well. I think any role you encounter at any point in time and the whole process, is a valuable experience, as well as an opportunity for everyone to help me grow. I'm also very grateful for all the criticism and so on that I've received before. so, I think the most important thing is just to do what an actor should do, and do it well. (rough translation)

🐥: I was full of arrogance in the beginning, but after i made my debut i felt so small. So from then i lost a lot of my mental strength. As soon as i made my debut I thought I was... I thought I was the best and I thought I was in first place [...]. My self worth was so high, but after that, was destroyed in one instant. in my head, it took me a long time to build this up, but i think the process of building myself up, unlike bulding a sand castle, you build it up little by little. so i feel like internally, i have became more resilient, compared to before.

So, my son-in-law, Dustin, took me shooting and made this video. I brought my trusty .243 that I have not shot in close to 20 years. Some of the targets I hit with it we estimated to be about 400 yards away. This .243 was given to me when I was a boy, and I've killed all but one of my deer with it. Dustin told me he was going to make a video, but I had no idea it would be so professional and entertaining! Thanks, Dustin!

So began my illustrious career as an artist refusing to compromise my artistic integrity. Thank you Pepsi for finally realizing the genius of our collaboration. 😄 Artists are here to disturb the peace.

I'm reminded making my newest Christmas Special of the thrill and power I felt upon receiving Macromedia Flash in 2005. The technology has evolved alongside with me in the most perfect way, and even after 20 years I feel I am just getting started. I am so very grateful this Christmas for my triumphant return to animation!
