This morning the UN Human Rights Council debated a resolution calling for a ban on arms sales to Israel. Germany opposed it because "the resolution insinuates Israel engages in apartheid & it accuses Israel of collective punishment.. & applying starvation as a method of warfare"

I've never seen a country try so much to be on the wrong side of history this many times. Absolutely unreal.

Germany should be thrown out of UN rights council if it's not capable of appreciating the situation in it's true context. Wonder how could such governments call themselves democratic.

Germany exports to Israel last year €326m. 30% of Israel’s arms purchases come from Germany. And, of course, the other reason.
