This morning’s RAINFALL is another reminder that nothing changes until the mindset towards MAINTENANCE changes. CHOKED DRAINS and neglected ROADS continue to cause FLOODING, disrupting lives and damaging INFRASTRUCTURE. PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE is always better than emergency repairs. CLEAR THE DRAINS. MAINTAIN THE ROADS. STOP THE FLOODING.

What are the people in our prisons doing ? They should bring them out to work on the roads. As Road Gangs that way we wouldn’t need to be paying for labor!

Ghanaians & our leaders are just idiots & all-knowing but knows nothing. Why are we still here with irresponsibleness & indiscipline. Local Government Authorities with all the laws & bye laws have failed the people who live as citizens & pay their levies & taxes that feeds them.

@KAgbodza, @JDMahama please the time has come for the ministry of roads and highways to strengthen the Highway Authority and public works department (PWD) to employ the many unemployed youths to be actively going round to ensure these kinds of challenges are avoided... Thank you

Good job, thank you. Ghana remains one of the filthiest countries in 🌍. It would take all of us doing our part to reverse GH's situation. The assemblies/municipalities are neck-deep in criminal activities (corruption) and a comple failure.

The Assembly has district engineers, developers and monitoring teams but they’re always in the office doing nothing.

My question is what are the MCE or the DCE doing about such things. So the local government what do they do at all?

Really Sad; thanks for showing this. The major cause of this situation is bits of floods running down from the near upstream settlement and all converging on the highway. To be sincere it would take an serious Catchment Management plan to resolve this.

MINDSET CHANGE: THE FOUNDATION OF A CLEANER GHANA Sanitation is not just about sweeping streets or clearing drains,it begins with the way people think. A nation’s environment is a reflection of its mindset. When citizens believe that keeping their surroundings clean is everyone’s responsibility, cleaner communities become a natural outcome. In Ghana, many sanitation challenges such as indiscriminate dumping of waste, littering, open defecation, and choked drains are driven more by attitudes than by a lack of infrastructure. Changing this mindset means helping people understand that every piece of waste thrown into a drain, every wetland encroached upon, and every act of negligence has consequences for the entire community. A positive sanitation mindset encourages individuals to dispose of waste responsibly, participate in community clean-up exercises, protect public spaces, and hold themselves accountable rather than waiting for government intervention. It also inspires businesses, schools, and local leaders to become active partners in protecting the environment. When mindset changes, behavior changes. When behavior changes, communities become cleaner, flooding is reduced, public health improves, tourism grows, and national development accelerates. Ultimately, transforming sanitation in Ghana is not just about providing more bins or collecting more waste,it is about creating a culture where every citizen sees environmental cleanliness as a personal duty. A cleaner Ghana begins with a changed mindset.
