Movie 🎥 Valerian and The City of a Thousand Planets

This movie was not that bad tbh Maybe a 7/10

They could have done better casting the lead actors imo I feel thats why the movie didnt go farther

This movie flopped because the casting for the main characters was too young to fill the role required for their characters. Therefore, even though the idea of this universe was amazing (10/10), the acting and the love story were atrocious (0/10).

So you’re saying its the fault of the actors?? I personally enjoyed the acting tbh

I'm saying you didn't understand what I wrote.

Pretty sure i did

Come on guys….this movie was badass RIHANNA was in the movie guys….RIHANNA guys!!!!

THIS MOVIE WAS WAYY AHEAD OF ITS TIME Despite the shallow acting, the plot was on point!!!

Well, the plot was way too thin for the stunning world building, the main characters looked disengaged from the environment they were in. Dane DeHaan delivered his lines like he was annoyed being in the movie, and Cara Delevingne come off as constant frustrated, there were absolutely zero chemistry between them. Bad dialogue that written as arguments or pushbacks, not really helping creating chemistry between people suppose to be a young couple more or less in love which each other, coming off more like an old couple tired of being together. If Luc Besson, the director, tried to get a "Fifth Element" vibe to this movie, he casted wrong couple as "lovers". As a huge fan of the original comic, I did appreciate the world building, it was spot on and fantastic, and that's the best I can say about it.

Yeah the cinema was spot on maybe the actors could have been better

@svegfinne It was not about the actors. They both have charisma. Cara would have been great spiky Laureline if Valerian would have been written and acted to be more dominant manly man. DeHaan was too cute and serious as Valerian.😐

@svegfinne Well everyone keeps saying the actors made it flop

I enjoyed the story, but the casting for the leads was poor. They looked about 16. Not believable.

Yeah i guess you’re right

Wait, I thought I was watching AI Slop.

Nahh its a movie

I think we deserve a remake of this

I just watched it over the weekend and was thinking the same thing. The heist at the multidimensional mall was pretty awesome!

Yeah it was really good

Too much cgi, not much thought put into characters or plot. Mediocre at best

Character i agree but the plot?? Come on

Great opening sequence about Earth integrating with aliens set to David Bowie’s Starman. Absolutely mesmerizing.

When did they start making full movies with AI?

I dont think it was entirely AI lol

@sakpo0007_ It did not flop

@ryannnnnoly @sakpo0007_ Yes it did

@ryannnnnoly @sakpo0007_ Avatar did not flop

@Layyenne @sakpo0007_ That’s not avatar 😭😭

Not to mention rihanna is in this movie

The world had freagin amazing world design, but the story sax ass 😞

The story was good. Maybe not great. But it was good

The industry hates it. Weird because it's so good. Stupid Hollywood politics.

Marketing. If they'd pushed that it was basically a The Fifth Element 2? It would have been a hit. It was a great movie but I didn't even know about it until 5 years after it was in theaters.

THISSS It definitely needed more pr

Watched it in 2D: didn't like it Watched it in 3D: had a good time

So the movie is good isnt it?

Yeah, I liked it in 3D Guess that added something to push it into the good category for me

I think after they destroyed their land , they started acting rubbish

Yeah but i still think the movie was really good

Because the male protagonist was one of the worst characters ever written.

A book based on a French comic book series made into a movie, it was a good adaptation to screen, I read it in the 70s and was happy they made it into a movie.

Valarian ... I liked it...

Один из любейших! Пусть его не поняли глупейшие из глупых, зато нам больше достанется))

thought this was Splice from the first few seconds.

The movie was okay but it felt like it would have been better as a series.

Fracasso? Óbvio que não.. Esse filme é uma obra de arte..

Did you watch it? It was boring.

The effects and alien characters were great. The story stunk. Lead actors, poor choice.

Fue muy buena

It’s just too long

Probably because they made the “special operative” leads a total joke. The books have them being seasoned high ranking special operative officers. In the movie, they have them as young kids that look and act like ROTC cadet goofs that get trumped by almost every enemy they encounter. I’d wager actual ROTC cadets act FAR more disciplined. Other than that, I thought it was really good. That was just a HUGE fatal flaw I couldn’t help but notice immediately.

It's so good. Seen it like 10 times

Not up to that for me 😂
