I don't like movies that traumatise people

If I remember correctly, the plot is the girl was told her whole life that she was sickly and she needed her mom to survive. She found out that the meds her mom were giving her were deliberately making her ill, so that she would be dependant on her

Yeah. That woman is not her mother. The woman’s daughter had died and she kidnapped the Chloe as a baby. She raised her in total isolation. The woman totally controlled her since she was born, but she explored her mother’s secrets as a teenager and found out weird things. She went to the pharmacy, and they told her the pills her mother gave her were actually dog medicine that’s why she couldn’t walk and was in a wheelchair. She tried to escape, and in that scene, she found the news article about her being missing and all the documents her ‘mother’ kept. She was trying to run and ended up trying to poison herself because she couldn’t escape. She wakes up in a hospital and tries telling the doctors everything, but they called security. One of the guards shot her ‘mother’ in the arm, and she fell down the stairs. Seven years later, Chloe visits her in a correctional institution and forces the same green pills down her throat… the ones that paralyzed her legs. Just like the woman did to her. Chloe has been giving her those pills every time she visits, to keep her paralyzed and no longer a threat to her.
