Back in the day they claimed Betamax was higher quality than VHS. Naturally, given the abysmal stupidity of human beings VHS won out and Betamax shrunk in available films until it went extinct.

Never seen either one of those in the wild. Simply heard rumors of them when I was a kid. I didn't know anyone with that much money. Even the rich kids had projector TVs instead cabinets.

The fact that this technology got outdated so fast is such a pain. But ngl, it is good to have access to literally any media ever made on a flatscreen with your own language's subtitles without spending a fortune or wait for the mailman to come.
