Could human tallies of votes be simple? The answer is yes. There are many systems for hand-counting ballots out there and, as you see here, counting isn’t even necessary when examining the ballots. Transparent and public vote tallying is the way to go for the public to trust the outcomes of elections. We need to make elections secure again and the key is to remove the vulnerable voting computers from elections. No more touchscreen voting machines! No more electronic tabulations as the certified tally! Paper poll books, preprinted paper ballots, hand-counts, small precincts, and Election Day in-person voting with a photo ID that matches the address in the poll book are minimum requirements to have a secure election.
