Julius Malema clarifies that under the EFF, Nationalization does not mean taking over industries, but rather setting up state-owned alternatives to compete with the incumbents in construction, mining, banking, etc. I could be wrong, but this was never my understanding of what he stood for when he was expelled from the ANCYL and when he set up the EFF. I understand Nationalization (as opposed to Privatization) to mean that Government would take a 50%+ stake in all big existing businesses in key strategic sectors, as to benefit the people.
