The gov has power to make education and healthcare free but they wouldn’t want that. A well educated and healthy population is not easy to rule. Have parents worry endlessly about fees and the sick worry about healthcare and you have a mass looking up to the gov. They want this.

Education can be free from Primary to Technical colleges.

Most mps are tone deaf to such policies because it will affect their pockets directly especially in areas where the populous is small and they know they can cook figures and still get away with it since no one can hold them to account. 😓

How can they understand when there's someone who gets kick backs form that money. System ya Majambazi.

At the end of the day, it boils down to greed - wanting to steal as much from the kitty as possible, and wielding power over the people so that they are indebted to you and reliant on you for their access to social services.

Then you expect the IMF to have mercy on you? Being politically correct is the most expensive decision a leader can make. Unfortunately Kenyans prefer political correctness to a working economy.
