i made a fun, weird concept map feature for superlocal i was thinking about how when every route on apps like google maps are optimized to get people to places ultra efficiently, you stop discovering so i built a concept that gives you bonus points in superlocal for going off-course on the way to a place called "drift mode"

Next week Pogostuck will have its 6th anniversary. Today, to celebrate, I am releasing a small new Map 1 mode (which is a separate map for technical reasons) that is Micro Map 1. 🤏 It will have a no-boost mode with leaderboards, too, just for the heck of it. Have fun gaming!

If you take out your map in Ghost of Yotei while it’s raining and look VERY closely, you’ll notice raindrops hitting the parchment of the map. This is essentially simulating what Atsu is seeing while looking at a physical map in the rain. Insane level of detail.

Yo! That new animation looks promising, I really hope you will like it. I learned a lot of new animation tools for this teaser, and it was a lot of fun to make. Also tried using Koikatsu to create the hair, and I'm really happy with how it looks now.

Computer vision is so dope. You can map your space in real-time with the phone in your pocket — creating a simplified 3D model with ‘semantically meaningful’ entities representing the room, walls, windows and furniture within that space. Basically, a 3D floor plan. This is Apple’s aptly named Room Plan API inside Polycam. Cupertino has been laying the primitives for Vision Pro for years.

Nano Banana Pro is a really good cartographer. Used it to turn low res satellite imagery into a detailed hand drawn map and vector HD map. Pretty wild how well it segments everything and even recovers paths/roads hidden under tree cover. Looks way more detailed than the current google basemap which is pretty sparse in countries like India. Included both in video for comparison.
