I'll tell it like it is: they're lying. Robots are getting better and better, and the goal now is not to support human labor, as suggested in the video, but in the long term they will replace human labor. In a market economy, profit is the only thing that counts, whether you like to criticize that or not. The fact is, however, that robots will be cheaper than human labor and will therefore be preferred. Moreover, robots are getting better and better, they will work longer hours than humans, are less prone to errors, do not fall ill and do not need vacations. They are superior to human labor.

Right now, humanoid robot companies and their robots are breaking through technological and commercial barriers—particularly in multi-humanoid collaboration. There is indeed a demand for practical humanoid robots to further enhance automation and reduce reliance on human labor for tedious and repetitive tasks. Starting in factories, they will gradually enter hotels, shopping malls, and homes… (btw, not necessarily in this order.)

Brain-controlled exoskeletons to train humanoid robots! 🧠 Fourier just presented human tele-operators using brain control interfaces and exoskeletal arms to train humanoid robots on home tasks. The brain control interface is the interesting part. Instead of using a controller or joystick to teleoperate, the operator's movements and intentions are captured more naturally through the exoskeleton and BCI. This means the demonstrations are more fluid, more human-like, and better suited for training robots to perform delicate home tasks. Multiple tele-operators are simultaneously generating training data across multiple robots. This is how you build the dataset needed for eventual full autonomy, without waiting years for it to arrive. This might be the bridge between "robots that work in controlled environments" and "robots that work in homes."
