This is my answer. The only match I’ve ever watched that made me sit up and realise for the first time that I’m watching the greatest player to ever play the game. It’s probably not even his top 5 individual performances, but it’s the one that always stood out to me.

His performance against the Netherlands is very underrated imo. He was so perfect in that match. On point dribble, pass, defend, executing the decisions perfectly, physics defying assist to Molina, very calm and composed penalty TWICE while getting man-marked by Ake. Perfect.
