This one might hit you hard

My mom always said “there’s no bigger hypocrite than a Sunday Catholic.” She wasn’t talking about people who went to church, she was talking about people who went to church every Sunday, wiped their slate clean through prayer and went back to being sinners for the next 6 days.

We go to worship the Lord. We pray 🙏 we sing throughout the service. Finding a Bible based church was best for me. I was chosen by the Lord thru the testimony of my Pastor at Church. We don’t go every weekend but I do enjoy going and being around like minded people.

What does the Bible say about it? His opening statement is not biblical. While much of what he says is true it leads people in a direction to believe that somehow all churches are incubators for darkness and church is a waste of time. When I was lost in my sin and my marriage was a disaster it was in the house of God I received Christ and I learned Christian disciplines. What born again person believes that going to church is an equivalent to salvation? If they convince themselves of that it’s on them. Jesus loves the church- Ephesians 5:25-27 (ESV):
“Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.” Hebrews 10:24-25 (ESV):
“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” Acts 2:42-47 (ESV):
“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers… And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts…” Acts 20:28 (ESV):
“Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.”

What he is saying is exactly why I don’t attend a church building, but instead have a daily conversation with God. Praising God isn’t about where you are or how loud you can sing. It’s about walking in faith, knowing that you fall short every day, and knowing that God is there with you though you fail him daily.

This is stupid People go to church to be surrounded by others with the same values and as a grounding experience I personally love the custom of spending an hour on Sundays I feel like it is like drinking a glass of cold spring water and I always leave feeling nourished

God is pure LOVE. I’m grateful to have him as my Lord and savior. I feel his strength in me. I was not coerced by fear to accept him. I willingly gave my life to him. Fear is the devil’s weapon, and he will use it against us if given the chance. God bless

I’ve been saying this. My mother was a faithful Christian woman. The church we attended was ok. But she got sick her last year. Not one of those so called Christian people called, came by or even acknowledged her absence. The church I will never attend again.

Yup 100% We’re also not to forsake the body, so seek a reformed church. Church that is bible based without Hillsong music and paid worship leaders that tug at your emotions, Jumbotrons and Starbucks in the lobby.

One only finds the Christ when he goes inside of his self God is inside you, he's not in the structural building not in the sermons but in side of your heart . Man has created spiritual laws to have you obedient to a spiritual structure. It has nothing to do with the one true God

I grew up a preachers kid, so yeah, a lot of people did think that. And behind closed doors those people were terrible.

This sounds like Paul Washer. All these Calvinist, Lordship-Salvation types know how to do is condemn others. It only betrays their pride and arrogance. Calvinism is the religion of narcissists.

I agree 💯 , plus Sunday worship is a big fat lie. God says to remember the 7th day, not the first day of the week. Where in the Bible says now we change the worship day to Sundays? They had to do that because the Catholic Church promots peganism such as sun worship (Sunday)

Its easy to go to the real church not made with hands 7 days a week. Build church are an occasion..

I went to church a year ago after many years. It was a business meeting. They covered everything that they do that makes money. Daycare pancake breakfast the new pavilion with a full kitchen. Building projects. The new sound system. Not much scripture.

Sorry. This one missed me. Going to a local church doesn't make one a Christian. Yet, obedience in assembling with other believers is a result of true faith. There is strength and safety in fellowship.

James 2:26: "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead"

I don't adhere to any organized "religion" or denomination, and I don't go to, or attend any "church" I simply go to church every morning before my feet hit the floor. I am a sinful man, saved only by the grace of a loving and merciful God.......my father in heaven.

Going to church checking the attendance block doesn’t make a person a Christian, no more than going to a sports game doesn’t make one a professional athlete. It’s what’s in the heart that matters.
