The bigger problem is that woman are almost programmed in our culture to be disappointed in their man. Everywhere you turn it is acceptable to criticize the man, especially Dad.

I think most women don't realise, the only source of positivity and warmth that matters to a man is what he gets in the home. When that disappears, we check out. It kills us to do it, but it is what it is.

True fact: I bought 3 houses which are now paid in full. I have not heard a single well done or thank you. Instead I heard 'where is my money?' despite me earning 10 times my wife's salary ...

I remember going to the store, doing all the shopping for wife + 2 kids, coming home, hauling all the bags in one trip, and my wife would stand on the porch and call it a “lazy man load.” (Hauling all the bags at once.) I was like…I did all this, and that’s your response?? Anyway, she’s my ex now.

After 21 years, I still meet him at the door with a kiss and a long hug.

This is not a gender thing. It works both ways. Always be respectful, not only to your partner, but to everyone. A compliment gets you a lot further that any amount of criticism and/or bullying. Pay it forward! 😉👍🏻

My brain developed a high tone filter. Somehow I don't register high voices anymore. Unless clearly drawn my attention, I have literally no idea what my wife says.

The longer I'm married, the more I realize I married a real gem. She's always encouraging and praising me for my strengths. Always faithful. Encourages me to take chances. For whatever reason, women were always drawn to me and I pretty much had my choice. She outshone them all.
