@leslieleeiii My friend insists he's never tested+. But at the time even he thought he had c19, he didn't do a test because "what's the point". Now that's become "I've never had it."😵💫

@leslieleeiii From 2022 we have been aware of this: Covid may cause victims to forget their infections or the body may forget trauma in the same way women who give birth forget the pain. Covid also reactivates toxoplasmosis which can cause memory loss as well.

@leslieleeiii I believe it’s the virus, it messes with the amygdala, responsible for risk assessment and also memory function.

@leslieleeiii There're a lot more examples tagged with #CovidAmnesia

@leslieleeiii Most people I've talked to about their Covid infections say, "It wasn't that bad, just like 3 days down. "... even the ones that went to the hospital due to complications... 🤔

@leslieleeiii Do you think it's just lying to fit into social norms or part of the virus making people forget about their past infections? I've also encountered this in real life where friends say they've had covid once and I know they have had it at least 4 times.

@leslieleeiii Totally agree that this needs to be discussed. And then question about whether it’s biological or psychological (or both?) is, frankly, a very important question.

@leslieleeiii I think about this so much! I’ve had my brother and a family friend lie to me about never having Covid months after they told me they did. Why lie to ME?

@leslieleeiii It’s really strange & I’m wondering the same things you are. Even abt my own memory abt my own 1 [known] infection. I tested + in Feb for the 1st time. No idea where when or how I got infected. Wasn’t awful awful but wasn’t good experience at all. Sucked actually. Anyway…
