This one took ~42 hours

It's always pleasing to watch artists' timelapses or live streaming, even though understanding how it leads to the final result is beyond me.😅 I'm in awe of the way you rendered his rifle (especially its scope). Thank you for sharing.

@Ferrnoctis_ Thanks! If you find good reference and are willing to painstakingly copy each detail over with a soft round brush for 10 hours - you can get a similar result, there's not much else to it xd

Still, having a skill to be able to copy a complex reference to a tee is very impressive, I must say (in addition to your previous clothes renderings). I might try (and fail miserably) rendering something for a certain piece someday, not sure of when that will be lol. Great work!

how do you get that grey scale to colors method?

I just put flat colors under the shading layer, and the shading has the multiply blend mode

But how would you tweak the blend modes to get the right shading colors? It's not going to be purely drawing skill or techniques, but understanding the drawing software you're using

The way I approach blend modes in general is by cycling through all of them and seeing which one looks the best. But for shading it's usually Overlay or Multiply

I use the Smart Shading method from Lines Sensei. But I don't know if that only works for CSP then Krita, im getting results using it on krita, but it feels like there are limitations on what Krita can do, that only CSP can do
