Crazy this is done with baseboards in place. That makes zero sense.

This is not a "chinese" technique. It's floor leveler and it's used everywhere for a variety of reasons.

I've worked on builldings from the late 19th century who's tile floors are still beautiful, I fail to comprehend how this increases a very durable flooring tenfold.

Houses in Switzerland have been built like this at least in the last 35 years using this technique, although in our case it is much thicker as we have the floor heating under this layer.

There is no such thing as a 'self levelling concrete' it's a smoothing compound, thats also a rake used to LEVEL the screed out, making it no self level, I'm a floor layer of 19 years

Self leveling concrete doesn’t make it level… you put a lazer level and make sure your marks are right and level it… People who make these gay videos don’t do labor…. Obviously

China? Germany uses it since at least 40 years.

Hey rocket man. Been tiling for years.. I use my 6 foot level. Check the floor if it has any low spots, I build them up with self leveling compound. If you float a floor out like that, you better know what you’re doing.. it says on the box use a primer before install installing tile. Question, why would you pour that over a level flower? Besides, I don’t give a damn what to do in China.. 🥴😎
