Poseidon was probably angry 😡 yesterday. We ran into the kind of weather you don’t forget. It had been a long time since I last saw the ocean in this mood. The wind had passed, but what it left behind was a restless, angry sea. The swell was roughly 2 to 4 meters high. The ship was rolling heavily, tilting about 20–25 degrees off vertical, you can see it in the video. This technology has me curious. It's called Wind Sail Propulsion. It's still in the 1.0 stages IMO. It's kind of interesting though and could potential save on fuel costs to get things across the ocean. It harnesses wind energy to assist or, in some cases, serve as the primary means of propelling ships. Another technology is the Flettner rotor, which uses the Magnus effect—created by spinning vertical cylinders in a wind stream—to generate forward thrust. Unlike sails, the rotor is powered by its own motor, allowing it to generate propulsion even when wind direction is unfavorable. Do you see potential for this kind of technology?
