This one was fun – back in 2015 I used NOAA data to visualize Earth's wind flow – at the macroscale it looks almost like an ocean, you can see wind 'waves' crashing against continents This was for the website of Attenboroughs Reef which is still online 11 years later

Poseidon was probably angry 😡 yesterday. We ran into the kind of weather you don’t forget. It had been a long time since I last saw the ocean in this mood. The wind had passed, but what it left behind was a restless, angry sea. The swell was roughly 2 to 4 meters high. The ship was rolling heavily, tilting about 20–25 degrees off vertical, you can see it in the video. If to hold on to something tightly 😂 The wind was blowing at Force 9 on the Beaufort scale, a full gale, loud, and relentless. It’s been a long while since I faced weather like this. You only meet seas like this around this season, and when you do. I kind of miss it. Kindly follow me if you like contents like this. And on YouTube, I’ve been more intriguing contents:

Hurricane Melissa was upgraded to 190 mph today, tied for the strongest Atlantic hurricane on record! NHC says: “Based on a blend of the satellite estimates, flight-level wind and dropsonde data, and the fact that the area of strongest winds was likely not sampled by reconnaissance aircraft, Melissa’s peak intensity is estimated to be 165 kt at 1200 UTC 28 October. The dropsonde that measured a mean wind of 188 kt in the lowest 150 m, recorded an instantaneous peak wind of 219 kt (representative of a wind gust) at an altitude of 906 mb, which is the strongest wind ever recorded by a dropsonde in a tropical cyclone”

This technology has me curious. It's called Wind Sail Propulsion. It's still in the 1.0 stages IMO. It's kind of interesting though and could potential save on fuel costs to get things across the ocean. It harnesses wind energy to assist or, in some cases, serve as the primary means of propelling ships. Another technology is the Flettner rotor, which uses the Magnus effect—created by spinning vertical cylinders in a wind stream—to generate forward thrust. Unlike sails, the rotor is powered by its own motor, allowing it to generate propulsion even when wind direction is unfavorable. Do you see potential for this kind of technology? What kinds of potential problems could arise? 🤨

The jm effect hitting so hard 😭 🗣 You have to understand what I was dealing with This man's hair was flowing with the wind , he had taken his jacket off he was spreading his arms out and closing his eyes and looking like Jesus and then the light hitting him like you know what i mean ?? I was like is is when we die and go to see Jesus , coz what am I looking at .
