You’ve got to be kidding me. I have lived in Kashmir when this guy was the CM (unfortunately) and there wasn’t a single day that passed without us being anxious for our safety. Oh, and, inclusion? The Abdullahs boycotted the entire wedding ceremony of their daughter to a Hindu. Also, the man in the video granted amnesty to over 1200 stone pelters in Kashmir as a “gift”. What goes around, comes back around. Always.

He got emotional. Nothing funny. In fact, it is cruel to laugh at another’s misery.

He and his father boycotted Sarah Pilot wedding with Sachin Pilot as she married a Hindu. As they say, practice what you preach.

I went around the world's airport. Every airport has prayer room, for people of all religion. In Srinagar, you have namaz room. It hurts na Also, I visited Kashmir for 5 days, met not even a single non muslim. It hurts na @OmarAbdullah

I watched the full interview, some takeaways: 1. To him secularism means equality of religions and non-exclusionist attitude. However he means at every level, and his view is equal quantification not proportional. He says that if there will be a Hindu prayer for a new plane, then the non Hindus will feel excluded once the board the plane. He’s getting to the core of the issue that bothers a lot of people. 2. Appeasement has been replaced with victimizing. Don’t appease but at least don’t victimize. 3. Kashmiri pandits is a hardly a topic worthy of discussion. Looks like it was largely off limits, few works spoken, not much empathy. 4. Sachar committe report, if Muslims were appeased they should be at the top of the economic ladder. Somehow it sounds credible but seems a bit questionable, there are countries in the world where there has been absolute equality under law - yet the representation of people of the faith and contributions to innovation, academia, entrepreneurship, etc. is not proportionate. 5. He slips into “you have your max and Apollo etc.” - “you” and “we”

Fact is his family stayed behind not due to love for India. If his family would have moved, their royal life would have been just old memories. Not love, just right calculations. Hurts that these people thinks they are special even after 75 years.
