This woman rented an Airbnb while in Portugal. She’s from the states and is used to turning the key to the right to unlock the doors. However when she tried doing this here, it wouldn’t work because you use to turn the key to the left. Other people are criticizing her and blaming her for not knowing how to open a door. But as with many things when going abroad, we don’t think about something as simple as that. Should the owner have at least showed her how to do it knowing she’s not from around there?

We will not let that happen. To say this has been a month no one ever imagines is possible in life is an understatement Late June… we find out my wife’s father has the same version of lung cancer she has been fighting/beating and that he can’t handle treatment so he only has weeks to live. At the same time, we find out her cancer is back in her hip socket. Better than in 7 spots like before but still, back. So, the oncologist determines 5 rounds of radiation starting July 20th July 4th comes around and we spend as much time as we can with her dad, traveling down to Delaware every week, sitting on the porch, letting him smoke and talk about anything and everything.. telling us “In 75 years they’re still going to be talking about me.. you know why? Because of how I was always smoking in the alley, in the alley (in his best singing voice)” July 10th, phone rings around 9am… we already knew why.. dad was gone. Quietly, peacefully, at home. But still gone, from the exact cancer she just beat. A complete mindfuck. No way to explain, no explanations, just gone. She asks herself why could she beat it and he couldn’t even handle treatment? Some things, we will never know the why to. Fast forward to today. She completes her 5th radiation session on her hip and get to ring the bell as a sign of completion. But, it’s not the same. She used to call dad right after every session to let him know how it went. But today, there was no call. She fights through the tears to let him know she made it, she did it for him, and she will continue to fight for him, and never stop. She is unstoppable She will never quit She is a saint And quietly, when cancer creeps in, she is a savage and will beat this again

Today is Rio's birthday! She always says she will provide the most rational answer, yet when it comes to being celebrated herself, she still does not quite know how to respond. She spent so long gazing at the stars, calculating the future, and shouldering burdens alone to keep everyone safe. There were nights of frozen meals and hideouts where even spiders made themselves at home, but she never stopped, because there were things she truly wanted to protect. The way she fumbles with her feelings, talks in circles, and loses the point somewhere along the way is all part of how she shows she cares. Why not visit her first today, Sensei. when sophia of katseye texted yunjin asking how le sserafim did it through their hate train & she replied with: “honestly, there’s no way around it other than just like you kinda grow numb to it.” — these words mirror her weverse letter from march 17, 2025. a year after it all started. in her letter she asked herself multiple times “how do we survive this?” and tried to define the meaning of “to survive”. she highlighted how she didn’t “remember feeling all that existent” when she wished simply existing would have been easy, how she felt like she was “dying” and how the past year taught her “surviving is an experience contingent on accepting a kind of death”. however, after all that happened, her personal answer to it was her “refusal of apathy” and her “love persevering”. it was her own fight to exist to allow herself to fall apart— just like she mentioned in her ‘paint your colors’ speech talking about ‘the red helicopter’: “you have to be able to bend in order to not break.” the girls grew numb to all the hate; but never to the pain that came with it. they learnt perseverance and how to accept the pain. pain made them change. pain made them grow. pain made them become a person they can be proud of and even love - this genuinely shows how truly strong le sserafim really is.

Using real water and age appropriate kitchen toys, she has the opportunity to fill a real cup - with no consequence greater than some damp clothing.
