This past weekend I won Smashkatoon 100, the largest Melee bracket in Saskatchewan history and a celebration of a wonderful community. I have never wanted to win a tournament so badly in my entire life... now it's over. Smashkatoon was my last large bracket I was planning on entering.... Life moves fast and my passion for the game and community can't seem to keep up. I've met some amazing people in my travels, and have had some fantastic times. I still love the game, but my serious competition days have long felt over, Smashkatoon was my one last ride. Shoutouts to Mono, Schmeez, and Egg$ for coming out. That meant the world to me. Thank you to everyone for an amazing 10 years of Smash, 12 year old me couldn't imagine making it this deep into the weeds of it. Thank you to my brother Dunc for getting me into it in the first place and being my guardian at events. Thank you to Paul for driving me to events and smashfests. Thank you Matty and Zach for showing me how cool being good at the game is and teaching me so much. Thank you to the RGF boys for sharing my passion for something I loved. Thank you Matt, Shash, and Chandler for getting me to so many events and for helping create an awesome 2024-2025 of Melee. Thank you TXH Esports for helping with so many of my ambitions. So many people to thank I'd be typing all day. Thanks to all of you for liking my combos and finding my playstyle interesting, that's what it's all been about for me. I know, I know, "Smash retirement, see you in 2 weeks". This community now isn't what I fell in love with, and it's up to me to recognize that and not try to force an unhappy relationship. I've been putting life outside of smash first on my priority list and have never felt better in life. I'm sure I'll putter around here and there and go to locals when I can but my days of serious travel, practice, organization, production and competition are over as things are. I was informed that the team will be seeking a trade immediately and will be working with me and my family to find the right place to continue competing for championships. I don’t agree with the decision and always believed it was going to begin and end in LA. Still, if there’s one thing that I have learned over the years: there are so many things that are out of your control, but it is how you respond to these things that you will look back on and remember. I have taken so much pride in playing alongside my teammates for the LA community, so thank you for embracing my family and making this such a special place for us. 2024 began with one of the best training camps of my career. Preparations start now for 2025. Highly motivated, as healthy as ever, and looking forward to playing elite football for years to come. Love you guys.. But coming for it all.

✨️ I finally did it!! ✨️ What a journey it has been. Pokemon Go helped me escape when I was suffering severely from mental health. I met some truly amazing people. I was welcomed into the local community with open arms, and I've never looked back. Pokemon Go has helped me take my shiny hunts to the real world and I've had so many amazing memories through the game. I went to Japan and met friends who I would've never met otherwise. The game isn't perfect and so many things make us unhappy, but for the most part, I can say I've made so many memories through this game, that make me so thankful. Thank you to my local community and the new friends I've made through raiding and community days. Thank you to my online friends, both the ones I've met and the ones I'm yet to meet. Guess who’s back… back AGAIN! Three years ago, I tore my left Achilles. A few months after I partially tore my left ACL. Then, in 2025, I tore that same ACL completely, tore my meniscus, and sprained my MCL—all in my left leg. Setback after setback left me feeling like I would never be the same. Today, I can finally say I feel like my old self. Thank you to my surgeon, doctors, athletic trainers, weightroom coaches and everyone else who helped me through this journey. You gave me the opportunity to be an athlete again. To my family—thank you for supporting me along the way. And to Jonah… thank you for carrying me through the hardest season of my life. Thank you for every appointment, every encouraging conversation, every moment you reminded me who I was when I had a hard time seeing it myself. I couldn’t have done this without you Cutler James ♡ To everyone who supported me, checked in on me, prayed for me, or believed in me from afar—thank you. It meant more than you’ll ever know. This isn’t the end of my comeback. It’s the beginning of what’s next.

It was difficult, but also incredibly cathartic being able to reflect on my experiences, the incredible people I’m blessed to have in my life and most importantly, my bond with my father. Time flies. Not too long ago I remember thinking that recruiting year was so far away, but it’s here. The next few days will be life changing. I just want to thank my coaches, teammates, family, friends and especially my parents for being on this journey with me. With out my parents I would have never gotten to where I am today. Thank you for all of the sacrifices you have made and giving me the opportunity to peruse my dream. Good luck to my teammates and all of the other 27’s. Just remember it doesn’t matter what division you play in as long as you still get to play the sport you love. Enjoy the process no matter how stressful it gets, don’t wish it away.
