this person is most definitely talking about a cellar spider which will ridiculously spin and rattle in their cobwebs when they feel threatened

a lot of other spiders with sizable webs also do it, this is an orb weaver, Argiope trifasciata female doing it with her web, also ignore the music i used to take a look at this spider on the way back from school every day, she eventually laid a huge egg sac near her web

the egg sac eventually unleashed hundreds of tiny babies of hers that then proceed to clump together for protection and warmth into a little baby spider ball smaller than a leaf

how do they come up with shit like this? like imagine if every time a nigga I didnt fuck with drove past my house I would start spinning my whole apartment to keep that nigga at bay

cellar spiders dont have sticky webs and they make messy webs to entangle prey, shaking around might do the same and entangle its webs on a predator, also a lot of animals are surprisingly startled or confused by sudden and erratic motions and will leave things alone as such

they’re weird because their webs aren’t adhesive they just catch things by being a chaotic tangle
