This petition is without doubt unprecedented, it will definitely be interesting to see if it continues to gain momentum or has it peaked? Will there be any ramifications? Let’s hope so, even if it rattles Starmer it’s more than worth it!

The petition will not result in a GE but those Labour MPs with narrow margins may be emboldened by it (for their own self preservation) to challenge the leadership. Internecine strife within the party may result in a GE

I doubt it will do either but it is immensely satisfying & if it undermines Starmer in any way it’s worth it

Its getting close to 2million now. This will look very bad for him on the world stage. A new PM, a new government and millions of people screaming to get him out, in just one day. Not a good look.

Not so sure about that, the re do Brexit one went to over 4 mil. But this one has just passed 1.3 mil in a very short time, so fingers crossed. Even if it gets chined off in Parliament, it turns the knife in the wound.

I don’t think it will instigate a GE but if it humiliates & undermines Starmer it’s worth it

The largest petition ever submitted to the UK Parliament was in November 1945, concerning pensions, and it garnered 6 million signatures—approximately 18% of the parliamentary electorate at that time. We can smash this by 7 pm Tuesday
